Sorry to hear about it, just got finish taking defensive driving a few weeks ago for a ticket. I was going 80 in a 65mph zone.

Is this your first speeding ticket?

I got my first (and hopefully last) ticket a year and a half ago on I95. I was clocked doing 82 in a 55.

I pled not guilty and went to court. I told my "story" to the prosecutor. Something about someone tailing me...I had to speed up...there were tractor trailers everywhere...i was boxed in...i was scared...you get the picture...

He ended up reducing the fine and the points. Instead of 82 in a 55, he marked it down as 68 in a 55. Less points and less money.

It is a doubled fine for a work zone...

People always say go to court. If the arresting officer doesn't show up, your ticket is dismissed. But I don't know how many times that actually happens.

Good Luck!

Two things. 1.)Work zone fines are doubled, and generally aren't reduced down in speed. 2.)This week is National Work Zone Safety Week (seriously), and I have noticed that highway patrol/the troopers are hanging out in these zones much more often than normal. Good luck with the ticket.

BTW I rolled past the cop doing almost 60, and braked off the exit, from Glen Cover Rd til Great Neck entrance ramp...I was doing a nice an reasonable 65-70 =)

-Yes, I'm bad, I admit it.
no doubt about it...i regret it sometimes that i got it

cops have been pulling me over for absolutely no reason

maybe i can take this post as proof that other people were doing similar speeds and they were biased towards my car!;P

yah right....anyways ... + =

The factory muffler helps alot....
My HIDs don't help at all, 3 times pulled over just to make sure its not some "cheap" halogen bulb.
I even had to disassemble my HID system to show them that it supposedly came from the factory this way.....LoL.
