HAHA i guess you can say i'm washed up when my rivals/friends on the org post about how less frequently i'm on the board. i gotta tell you this, whenever i fire up the max either to work or on the way home i still feel like my car owns most of the cars on the road. this nice cool east coast weather is making me want to hit the track sooner or later. i'm experiencing that weird stick/slip phenomenon that was posted a while back. this only happens on upper gears part throttle though. any of you fast NA guys with high miles experience this? hell, my car barely has 67k on it. some say it's the clutch, some say it's motor related...anyway, low 14's is the range i pilot my max at.

VQdriver you aren't washed up you just retired early.

 

IIRC correctly you run 14.0x most of the time you take the max to the track.....just one tiny mod and your 13's. I wish I was in your shoes lol

 

i think it'll take more than a tiny mod to go from 14.0-14.2 to 13's. it's more like a combination of factors including parts, track conditions, and driving. i seemed to have hit a wall with my setup. a rather big wall lol.

From looking at maximaracing.org, it seems speedemn has already hit 13's. His time is 13.940@98.35

 

put me in the list ill be faster than that one day haha

 

3 questions,
1. Are you using VQ35 internals or a VQ35 short-block?
2. If it's the 3.5L block, did you have to modify the heads to fit?
3. Are there differences between the VQ30DE and DET heads?

 

1. yeah both
2. no mods needed
3. the only head differences are the valve springs.

 

y2ksesteve should be close to 13's NA this winter when we get some cooler weather here in Az.

102.34 is the best I've had.

 

right now for me, 99+mph. 100+ mph club soon to come.

 

lol when i took my auto GLE to the track, w/ intake, other goodies, etc. it only turned a 92 mph trap

thats not what that car is for though my srt-4 is my track car now and my max is the comfy driver srt's best trap, stock, was 102.4 i think that the max has a lot of factors working against it for qtr mile use.. anywho, thanks for the responses.

96.9 with the stock ECU. I'm hoping for 100's soon too..

 

Mine is a 99.51mph, but I usually average 98.Xmph.....which is usually enough to outrun the SRT4s at my track

 

we i never lost to a n/a max so....would that make me that fastest n/a max?

 

my best trap is 96.95 mph and I'm almost as fast as some of ya'll.

 

96.5 is my best trap speed.

 

which ECU do you have? JWT? also what kind of time are you putting down?

 

I think that is pretty normal for a fast non-MEVI maxima.

 

Yeah, JWT, I ran a pb of 14.5. But that is also with my 18's on. I think that is why my trap speed is lower then the rest of the mevi/jwt people.

 

so how come nobody ever mentioned me? lol i know that i need to hit the track and i will as soon my tires come in. any guesses of what i can hit with my 2k2 rims?

 

i'm hoping to better my times and ETs with a set of drag radials and some millenia wheels. my personal best of a 14.26 @ 96.01 mph was on my 17" SSRs.

 

i was able to hit 99.79 when i was NA.

 

Which millenia wheels is the one to get? The 12 spoke or the 9 spoke one?

 

9 spokes are the lighter of the two, but the 12 spokes are only about 1lb heavier.

 

Also if anyone is interested, the new Kosei K1 TS (not the old K1, but the new, split 6 spoke K1) only weighs 10.5lbs in 15x7. You could fit a wider slick on those, and they are also 1lb lighter even than Millenia wheels, and about 3lbs lighter than the old traditional K1.

 

Well i guess ill be selling my k-1's next year
