Mechanical 02 Fix

I was just looking threw the evo forums and i was wondering could we use some thing like this http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthr...mechanical+fix
After reading up it looks like the spacing allows you to trick to ecu, though the pics show a cap. I was thinking 3$ versus 25$ for the rear o2 sensor would be nice.

So your basically pulling the o2 out of the exhaust stream. How in the world is that a fix? It can't get accurate readings and eventually will throw a code indicating that.

This is for the secondary o2 sensor in the cat (95-96) or b pipe (97-99) (not sure for other years) right after cat. Its main purpose is to see if the cat is still in place and to be used if one of the primary ones is dead. Since people put test pipes they sometimes get codes. This is meant to fix that instead of using an o2 simulator which is an electrical fix that tells the computer that the secondary is working fine. This looks to be a much cheaper route. I am not sure of the mechanics of why that would work but if it does great. For $3 I don't think you can loose and if it does not work then just get an o2 simulator.

Our stock cat is fine unless boosted or big nitrous. If you have a lot of miles on your car you might want to replace it eventually but it is definitely not one of the first mods unless you get the whole exhaust and just feel like a test pipe or high flow cat too. Test pipes tend to make your exhaust more raspy and high flow cats tend to go out more easily.

thnx i was just posting it to see if i could be an alterative to buying a new O2 for the guys hitting 100k on there rear O2. I mean there really is not need for a sensor to tell you if your cat is working when you can by seeing if your exhaust smells like rotten eggs.
