I know this is a maxima general discussions section, but i thought i would get better response here...

I am trying to change the oil on my mom's 1994 honda accord for the first time... and in the manual it says "Always use an oil that says API Service SG or SH" but they oil that i use on my maxima is API Service SL/CF Mobile 1 5w-30. I have 4 qts of oil left from changing oil on my maxima... can i use that same oil on the honda? I always thought that auto shops use the same oil for all cars?

Please help, i am doing it right now

might want to use 10w-30 on a higher mileage car

could you tell me why? it says in the manual to use 10w-30 only if the temeperature doesnt go below 20F, and here in MD it does sometimes in the winter

so can i use that same oil on my mom's car? it has 106k miles on it
