Caught at Street Racing ..
Well, last night was a usual for me, sat around at the local street racing areas for a while looking for anything happening ... By 2:00, the spot I usually was at was jam packed with 75-100 people. I started the crowd up by going a few runs with my friends GTech, which didn't work properly either time, (trying to do 0-60, first time it gave me a q/m after I let off the gas, second time didn't give anything).
A corvette showed, did a crazy burnout and then went and parked. There was a pretty sick Type-R there, and a VW GTI. A mercedes with a huge wing showed too, but there weren't any good races between cars worth mentioning. Someone yelled 5-0, and everyone scattered. The majority of us went out the other side street, and continued up it. Being the smart fellow I am, I figured 1 side street away would be enough, and started the regular root home. The police had setup a roadblock down the street that I didn't see, and told me to go sit in the parking lot with a bunch of other fancy cars and told me to get my license & registration & blablabla.
I did the usual drill and I'd been caught before like that (ie, not racing, but AT races ..) so I didn't really care, I just wanted to go home cause it was almost 4am. The police finally came round after checking my records, and said "Ok, you shouldn't be here, there's nothing against watching street races, and we're assuming you were only watching, but we've marked you in our computers and if we find you at another street racing session again, we'll be searching your car for any illegal modifications, and writing you a ticket."
I nodded and got out of the parking lot and began the drive home with my friends, but I was wondering about the new anti-street racing laws going on in Toronto/Ontario. I'd heard of a new type of ticket that was something along the lines of "Intent to race". Was this cop full of BS like I think he is, by saying he put a mark on my license and if found at another race I could get in trouble? Or is this some new fancy canadian anti-racing thing happening that I'm not aware of. I'm pretty sure he was full of it but if anyone has any information that I'm not aware of, shed some light on it for me

Awesome,
good to see some other people know about it =) .. Millies is still kicking, but after the tresspassing tickets last year, I'm still a little iffy about going back. I saw a 2000 max at the races (14th and warden) .. That anybody? Was around 2am.
Give me an email at ereet1@home.com or anyone that wants to come out and meet at woodbine & 16th can come =) .. We'll exchange cellies and track down some action. But uhhh, anyone know if the cops were for real? hehe.

Hey ereet, you'll be getting mail from me! Can people just come and watch and talk to other car enthusaists??
What time does it start though? 2AM is a little late..
I really have no intent of racing since I intend to keep my driving record clean and insurance rates as low as possible.

Sounds good.
Well, the meetings usually happen at various toronto tim hortons' around the DVP/401 vicinity. From there, 'trains' of sooped up cars leave the tim hortons to go to racing spots, and race. Meetings at the tims happen from 11-2:30am usually (at 2:30am most of the places turn the lights out in the parking lot). The races usually run from 1-4am. So, coming out just to chill prior to 2am is a very good possibility, you just might not see any races heh.
