must be the time of the year... just recently i was hit in the front of my car but luckily it was only cosmetic damage and got a whole new front clip including lights and lenses 
im glad to see you were able to walk away from that... hopefully you will keep it in the Maxima family with the next car.

damn neal, I'm kinda at a loss of words. Even though I would like to see you break new records with a Maxima, I think you would be better suited to something smaller, faster, and rear wheel drive.

Sorry I didn't call you back, I just now got home from work. As much as I would love to see you stay in the maxima community, I wouldn't blame you for getting something else. Hope you can find a car to hold you over for the next couple weeks....or you insurance company comming through with a rental.

Damn, I am really sorry to hear about your lost. Get yourself checkout first then fight the insurance company for the total value of the car. Hopefully, u will stay in the maxima family.

This shows that not even GOD maximas are exempt from accidents. (for everyone, drive safe this winter)
If it is any worth to mentioned, I always looked up to your maxima, as how I would like my maxima to look and feel like. (loved your car.)
about the car, I would say, most likely don't stay with the 4th gen. get a new car. it doesn't have to be small and fast. research and choose the car you always wanted to get. (not being a 4th gen max. I'm sure you will feel alot better.)

hey neal. glad you're ok. from the looks of things it could have been worse. you're the number one guy in terms of NA maximas in my book. your max was just that much faster than mine. good thing you told me otherwise i wouldn't have seen this until next week. good luck with insurance. let me know when you're ready to go sideways!

Yeah this guy had Progressive. I got hit by a drunk about 4 years ago who totalled my last car who did not have insurance... I got screwed there.
I'm starting to get some interesting ideas for a replacement car. I think I can safely say it won't be another maxima (though I will always love the max). All day today I've been kicking around the idea of something who's name starts with an R and ends in -7, and might have something that starts with an L and ends with a -1 under the hood
But that's really too far off to tell. I need to concentrate on getting what's due to me from the insurance company first.

As for an LS1 F-Body, here's my worthless opinion. I owned a 94 Z28 and it was a blast. I really didn't do a ton to it and it ran mid 13s which was decently quick back in 1996-1999. The downsides to owning an F-Body:
1) Gas mileage around town, especially in the winter, is dismal. You're looking at 14-16mpg around town in cold weather.
2) The car is fast and looks fast. Everyone wants to race you. There is absolutely no sleeper effect with these cars.
3) If you don't run low 12s, people could give a rat's a$$ about it.
4) Build quality, cheapo interior, almost laughable.
5) 98+ Z28 looks like a catfish.
With that said, if you do get an LS1 F-Body, get an auto. It's stouter, far easier on the 7.5" glass rearend, and it's actually a quicker 1/4 mile car. It is common for autos to be about .3 seconds quicker than 6 speeds in the 1/4 if the auto has a stall converter.
Longtube headers, cutout, intake, ECU tune, cam, stall converter (stock gears), 245/50R16 DRs, and maybe some SFCs and you're looking at 12.5s.

Havent been around in a while, saw this though. Dang, I know the feeling about illlegal U turns, I came within 6 inches of wrecking my bike a few months ago cause some moron in a SUV did an illegal U turn right infront of me. I also know the feeling of right before impact when your body is probably at 110% heightened awareness its like all motion stops. And then the crash just replays over and over for the next few days in your mind.
As for the LS1 car, are you considering.... GTO, F body?, Corvette or SSR? If you dont remember I went from a 97 max to a 98 Corvette about 2 years ago and havent looked back. Zero regrets. I really havent done much to it aside from the stereo and airhorns, I think I've lost the modders bug.
Dave, i see you're loosing the max soon, what are you going to get? IIRC, you were looking at something 4 cyl and turbo?
