Thanks for all the support everyone. I've been pretty sad about it the last few days. Even though it is exciting to think about a new car, what I am most sad about is the fact that I never did get to install my turbo. I was hoping to eventually put down some wicked numbers with that, but unfortunately my financial situation in the last year or so resulted in me selling mods rather than buying them.

One of the ideas that I alluded to earlier was possibly getting an RX7 and doing an LT1 or LS1 swap into it. There are kits out there to do the swap and it is pretty easy, I've been reading up on it the last day or so. Also starting out with a 300ish hp V8 in a 2700lb rwd, marvelously handling car is not a bad way to start. But who knows, we will see.

V8 rx-7 sounds VERY interesting. If you do go that route, you have to keep us updated here with what is going on with it.

Sorry to hear about the car neal, hopefully everything works out. I can vouch for these rx7's with the LS1. My friend who has a v8 chevy single cab truck tried racing one from a roll and that thing just left him like he was sitting still. I swear i have seen some fast cars and i would have to say that is one of the fastest cars i have seen first hand. Good way to go in my opinion

If I get one it would be that model, the 86-91 style. I couldn't afford to get a 93+ and do an engine swap into it.

I'm starting to get some interesting ideas for a replacement car. I think I can safely say it won't be another maxima (though I will always love the max). All day today I've been kicking around the idea of something who's name starts with an R and ends in -7, and might have something that starts with an L and ends with a -1 under the hood

But that's really too far off to tell. I need to concentrate on getting what's due to me from the insurance company first.

RX7 or LS1 motor.. my friend has a TransAm WS6 with a LS1 motor its mean as hell!

One of my coworkers found a 93 RX-7 for $2500 and it's in good condition.

dam neal i feel sorry for you and your car. dont leave the max community man, come on look at what a great car you have, and look at all the ppl that support you. Dont let something like that stop you, just think of it as an obstacle in life slowing you down from your goal. i say stay with the 4th gen

Sorry to hear your car went down, it sure was a fast car. From what I understand, you were about to get a turbo installed soon. But at least you're not hurt. Sure will be interesting to see what you get next.

That really really blows chunks.

Fastest N/A 4th gen...that I know of, is gone...oh the memories.

Good luck with all that insurance stuff, and hope you stick around here no matter what car you get in the future.
