Good morning

Hello. Im new and am scared.
I hope Im not breaking any rules by posting this but I cant find a Newbie section .

WEll I have a 1988 300zx turbo but I hit a tree with it and blew the engine. SO I have rebuilt(process of) and am aiming 300ponies.
Once hte body is repaired (interior too) and the engine done, Ill be looking for my next car. I have a choice of a 240sx or a 3rd gen Maxima. I have been in love with this gen ever since I was tail gated by one.
I have some questions about them but Ill post later when I have more time.

thank you and please dont be to harsh on me

Yeah, I've been following the Maximas ever since the 222 hp(isnt this a 2002 4th?) one. I know some good amount on them but the 4, 2, 1st, gen I have very little knowledge on.

I like Rwd but for some reason I keep getting pulled to the Maxima(4dsc) and also the Legend....

well since you are rebuilding the turbo motor, why not get an 89-91 SE and drop the Z motor in it? you could also do this with a 240sx but it seems like alot of work when the same power is availible for probably cheaper from the stock motor (boosted of course).

Thanks bro.
THis is a pretty cool site....thanks for the reponses.
Yeah the thought of swaping engines crossed me, but I want to have the 300 as a show ready car.

The Maxima should be easier to work with engine wise since I already got a nice dose on rebuilding it. I am looking for a manny tranny but they are so rare here...I still havent found any .
Is anyone here from Miami?

Also, I've been looking around and I see that the 4th gen is pretty popular, why is that?

ANd the 5ht gen, well I thought it was just a cosmetic change of the 4th...now I know the difference, thanks.

DO you all like the New maxi? or no? I dont really dig the styleing, but Its OK in my book...
