Lowering Springs install?

How many of you have done it yourselves? If so how difficult? What would I need? How Many of you got it done buy a shop? What would I be looking at for cost to install? I going to put them on my 92 max stock struts intill summer when I can catch up on my bills. I want to put my Moda R6s on with 205/40/17 Sp9000s on but I am what intill I put the springs on. Dont want my max to look lifted!

I think it's fairly easy, just take your time, and don't rush the install. The basic tools that you'll need are a tool set with metric sockets, spring compressor, jack, jack stands... and time, thats about it. good luck!

I have done it both ways. I paid $200 two years ago for pro installation. I just recently swap out my intrax springs for a set of Sprint. The install was not as difficult as I thought it would.
Tools you will need:
Sockets set and a big breaker bar.
Spring compressor
Jack and Jackstands
If you don't have all these tools already and are not planning on doing anymore more work on your car. Just pay someone to do the install. Getting all these tools would cost more than $200.

what is a breaker bar and is a tourqe wrench needed? im plannin on istalling mine as soon as i get them and am trying to get ready. Autozone, if you have one near you, give free 72hr rentals, beyond that, then you start paying. and is it necessary to use jack stands? can you just do one set at a time? thanks

With all do respect, if you don't know what a 'breaker-bar' is, you should just pay someone to do it.
Something I think everyone here forgot to mention is how d$mn tight the bolts are on the front strut to knuckle, or in the rear. I mean, you could have a hernia(sp?) trying to break them free. I know people think that a rust penetrator will do it fine. However, I worked my way throuhg a can of Wd-40, a can of BLASTERS that shadetree mechanic reccomends and finally with some force and persistancy it came off. But I am telling you....if I had slipped on that breaker bar, that thing would have gone right through my fender, or I would have SMASHED my knuckles into the rotor on the stupid car.
I am not trying to say you shouldn't do it. Just don't let people lead you to believe that all you need are some sockets, time and a breaker bar. You need to be one strong ***** to break those bolts free.
BTW a breaker bar is a rachet that is about 24" long in my case. The bar attaches to the socket like a rachet but instead of being 8" long, its more like 24". What does it do? It gives you leverage...

I use a pipe too. I broke three Craftsman rachets that way and not to mention how dangrous when those rachets gave away. With breaker bar, it's just safer. I actually broke a socket trying to take off one of the rear lower strut bolt with my breaker bar. You gotta love Sear's lifetime warranty. Too bad I misplace tools more than I break them.
