My rotors, pads and calipers are in pretty bad shape and I want to buy the FastBrakes kit, but I want to know how those who have it installed feel about it? Any problems with anything? Any opinions?

I read Chungers post, and the last I knew he was gonna do a write up, but he had said something about it not being a take it out of the box and put it on deal. I tried to call Brian at FastBrakes all day and there was no answer all day. Guess Ill call again tomorrow.

Sorry guys... I thought interest had died on this "little project"

I actually think 2 others have put it on (or in the midst of it...j/k) They have stock SE rims i think... so they can comment on the fit.

I've had them on for just over one week...

The "deep pedal" feel is now gone and replace with the normal feel. However much less pressure is needed to brake compared to my stock (actually xdrilled Stillen) fronts. This is (was) exagerated by my heavy 18" rims/tires.

I will probably do an "extreme stop" sometime this week as I feel that the rotor/pads are sufficiently broken in now. I feel that the front/rear bias isn't screwed up (I don't have ABS) so this will provide the evidence. I'll keep everyone posted....

The "snafu" I was referring to was that the calipers weren't exactly centered over the rotors (so I used a few washers)... This was to give the SE rims more clearance against the spokes... It didn't apply because my Lowenharts have spokes that are moved outward (as their ad said...hehe) to accommodate large brakes. Centering shouldn't be a big factor since these are fixed calipers and the pistons will adjust to the offset. Everything else in the kit is ok. There is a little grinding involved...

Word had it that there may be another GD with these... but you gotta get that from the source (or Shing).

I just finished part 1 (of 3) of "How to Build a Webpage" so I should have a webpage up by next week...
