1) What do you expect when you are going 140mph. Plenty of cooling air
2) How do you know that's the optimal operating temp of the engine anyway?

Mine tends to hover just above the middle and when my bass hits it flutters up and down.. when I get stuck in traffic or going even the slightest incline it will raise just a bit... I want to get auterra and run the temp live to see if its really overheating a bit or if its just the needle going crazy.

That would be the best way as the oem temp guage is very inaccurate.

The radiator cap would only make a difference if the coolant was hitting flashover temperature. A different cap could have a different emergency release pressure. A better explanation would be a different thermostat. My orig. thermostat hovered around there, but when I replaced it I got one that opens at a little bit higher temp

yea the cap is only gonna raise your boiling point, it wont make your car run any cooler.

what's the heck is that blue thing in the middle of your gauge, also I noticed the warning light is on, what does that say, it looks like Engine light. Also, how is it possible going over 140 cuz there is no place in U.S unless a racetrack that you can try to achieve something illegal at that speed. If I tried something like that, I know i would be putting myself in danger that a tire could possible blow at that speed and cause the car to flip. I've seen that happen.

do you constantly want to own yourself over and over??

like someone already said...it raises the boiling point of coolant...doesn't make your coolant cooler. are you that dense that you can't understand that?

Thats his ABS light because he pulled his fuse. He can stop faster by out pumping the ABS controller

with my Nismo cap, the temp gauge is still at half way. Why would you think it only affects temp at the high speeds? terrible logic.

for the most part i believe that the Nismo cap is just for looks. won't do anything for performance, won't do anything to help your car...just for looks. I have it on and i don't care if it does a damn thing.

It was turned off for photographic interfarence. Its just there for being there. i used to scare myself driving at night when it came on because it was bright blue and i would think its cops.

i love messing with you guys . take everything so seriously.

FYI JEFF 6500rpm in 5th gear in a 99 4th gen is about 155MPH based on the gearing,my stock tire size and final drive.

One day a hunter goes in to the woods with his gun in the hopes of shooting a bear. After a few hours of tracking he felt a tap on his shoulder: it was a huge grizzly bear.

"You're hunting me?", said the bear. "Well, you got two choices. Either I maul you to death or I f*** you up the a**."

The hunter didn't want to die, so he dropped his drawers and let the bear f*** him. The bear left satisfied and the hunter went back to his cabin.

After a horrible nights sleep, the hunter decided that he was going to kill the bear, so he went out hunting. After a few hours of tracking the hunter once again felt a tap on his shoulder. Again, the bear gave him two options.

"Either I maul you to death or I f*** you up the a**." The hunter dropped his drawers, bent over, and let the bear have his way with him.

Back at his cabin that night, the hunter couldn't sleep and decided right then and there that he would go out, find the bear, torture him and and kill him! Not waiting for morning the hunter went out in search of his cave.

After tracking the bear for several hours he stood at the mouth of the cave where the bear slept. As he was creeping in, he felt the familiar tap on his shoulder,

"You're really not out here to go hunting, are you?"

---------------

You're really not here for the cars, are you?

yeah but i want something else.i would have loved to get mevi and an ECU but it ain't going to happen without me hacking up some stuff. i bought a PF throttle body so i will install that once i get the adapter plate. I will probally get an SAFC II since they are really cheap now and that will be it. Sure i can supercharge it or turbocharge it but that is $5000 i can use toward a nice car. i plan on keeping my max.its pretty quick and it's ok on gas i get about 23MPG.

You keep doing this and it's pretty pathetic.... post something, get knocked down because you think you're smarter than you are, try to defend yourself but again, you're not that smart so it fails, then you say you're here to "help the noobs" and "mess with us"

.......but you don't know more than noobs except how to install a hideous eyeball.

.......and we really know that whole "mess with you" thing is a cover for your lack of anything useful to add.

Go away.

Hacking up what stuff for a MEVI/ECU? I'm not an engineer, but I didn't "hack" anything up in the process of swapping mine.

The MEVI is a mechanical device, you should be okay with that part, but the ECU, it's electronic.. . . OOhh, might need a EE for that one.

For me to get the ECU to work i would have to "hack UP the harness" and move pins around but i thank you for sharing your experience.
