is the VQ30DE in the 3 rd gen Maxima?

One of my friends is getting a third gen max. and he said that between 92 thru 94 the SE's had the VQ30DE is this true?

nope...it's the VE30DE...the VQ was and still is used 95 and up...

The 92-94 have the VE, but it puts out approximately the same HP.

VE 190 HP, 190 Lb.-Ft.
VQ 190 HP, 205 Lb-Ft.
4th gens weight about 150 lbs. less in weight.

Ok the 3rd gens (J30) had two engines

89-91 All VG30E 160hp 182tq
92-94 GXE VG30E
92-94 SE VE30DE 190hp 190tq

The 4th and 5th gens have one engine

4th Gen (A32B) VQ30DE 190hp 205tq
5th Gen (A33B) VQ30DEk 222hp GXE non 20th SE GLE
VQ30DEk 227hp Infiniti I30 20th SE
