OK...some twit with a red car obviously opened their door too far while parked next to my sterling silver mist Max. There is NO dent, but they left a little patch of red paint on my door! HOW on earth do i get THAT off??? I've rubbed my thumb raw with no luck but havent tried anything else yet in fear of taking original paint off in the process. What are the options?? clay bar??.......??????

try this if you want...

somebody sideswiped me and left brown paint smeared across my car. i attepmted to rub it off but it didnt seem to work. so i tried gs27, i believe that is what its called, there are late night infomercials about it. it clean my car off nice but i must warn you, my car is white. i dont know if you want to attemt this on your car but you can experiment on a small spot. i used to have a black miata and when i used it on that, it made a huge dull blur onto where i rubbed it. i belive that is 'eats' your clearcoat sort of and spreads it out as you rub. since my car is white, i used it anyways since those marks wouldnt be noticable, but since you car is silver, i suggest you experiment on a small place first.

o yeah, if you do try this, wax and polish the area good.

Polishing compound, followed by your favorite wax.
