Who actually uses the backseat of their Maxima? Given that most of the members are young (probably don't have any kids) and performance enthusiasts, how often do you use all 4 doors?

Yeah the funny thing is that I hardly ever driver more than one extra passenger in my Maxima. So basically, my backseat is crammed with junk that I think might be useful one day, but never has been yet.

But there are times I am glad I have a four door sedan. It's nice to be able to say "I'll drive since I have the bigger car" rather than have to cram myself into the backseat of a tiny Civic.

4 doors are good when you're driving with people in the backseat. The driver or the front passenger doesn't have to get up and fold the seat forward when the backseat people have to get up.

The backseat is good for transporting friends, as well as family.

It's true! I had a coupe before this 4-door, and when you have to transpot things like computer monitors...well...let's just say I am happy with 4, since no hatch's in this country appeal to me. (I would like an s3! ^_~ )

I use my back seat a lot... friends mostly, when all 4 of us in the house go out I usually drive. It's way useful for hauling stuff. I would never get a car that I couldn't fit a lot of stuff in.

I rarely drive w/ anybody in my car. The only time I have someone in my car is when my gf is w/ me. I only use the back seat for throwing junk in. No room in the trunk, b/c of the stereo. I haven't used the back seat for recreational purposes yet, but I'll consider it for the future

I have a 4-door car to haul my drums. Other than that, I almost never have anybody or anything in my backseat. You've never seen such new-looking leather in a 6-year-old car.

Did you know that you can't fit a 27" TV into the car? Too tall for the trunk, too wide for the inside of the car. Problem with a 4 door is that when you go out you HAVE to drive if there are more than 2 people going, because of course, everyone of my friends has a 2 door.

My car come in handy when you have a few "big" friends to drive around. Problem is now, I am the official driver whenever we go out. Seem like most people like to sit in my car because it's roomier and more comfortable. Hm...maybe I should start charging them fares.

I prefer to do the driving anywhere I go, so I don't mind when I have to drive people. Nobody else can drive very well.

Yeah really, I'd rather be the driver on any group trip than a passenger. So that's a benefit.

But the #1 most common passenger I have in the backseat are big computer monitors. Nice cushioned seats, buckle them in with the seat belt. Makes good for LAN parties..

I hardly ever use 4 doors...

Usually I have no more then 1 passanger in the car, once or twice a week I have a bunch of friends with me, only then it comes useful, the max pulls extremely well with 4 or even 5 people in the car. My backseat has a bunch of CD cases, a sweater, some tapes and maybe my jacket or school books which I just throw back there when I about to drive somewhere.... I still like the room, if it was only more economical

So why do you want a maxima (indicated by yet another car purchase poll)??

4 doors are better, because I hate folding the seat forward on a coupe and crawling in (how can some 2 doors have such tiny rear seats?) Also, I am tall and like the room of the Maxima. Although coupes can look cool, and seem great for 16yo drivers, I always hated driving them with my friends crammed in the back seat. Looked like a circus/clown car when people would crawl out the back.

Actually it's revelant. As he just made a poll in the 5th gen section regarding the purchase of a 3.0VQ maxima or 3.5vq maxima.

Apparently he takes quite some time on car purchases.

Wow, old thread lol. I usually use two doors at most, due to the fact that I'm still only on my restricted licence, which means I can't drive with passengers unless one of them has had their licence for two years or more.

Most of my friends have 4 door sedans anyway, only one person I know has a hatch. My Maxima is probably the largest of them all though (and fastest of course )

I usually use my back seats as storage, I know i have a trunk, but Ill usually toss stuff back behind my seat for storage. I finally cleaned it all up last weekend, so now its all empty. I like having no passengers, less weight = more powa!

I made a thread a while back asking how many people other than myself hate taking passengers. . . the general response was that I was not alone, many people did not like passengers in the back, where as few people felt that the Maxima should be used as a people carrier just because it is a 4 door 5 seater.

It feels the same way when we pile in/out of my buddy's WRX.

biggest thing ive put in the backseat is a Dell PowerEdge server *in the box.
A close second is a 19inch Viewsonic monitor *in the box.

I had to adjust the seats to fit them in.

Anyways as you can see I use the backseat for stuff. As far as recreational purposes go....lol, I HAVE LEATHER......

yea my car is the biggest out of all my friends so they usually vote for me to drive. But the way gas prices these days I'll suffer to ride in a civic. The max is a real family car, nice roomy interior, roomy trunk space and lots of power and dependebility. I think we all choose are max for different reasons but Nissan put it out for the middle aged people out there and us enthusiasts are just spicing it up.

I usually get stuck with being the official driver when more then 3 people are going. because im a big guy 6'4 and my friends cars arent exactly designed with people like me in mind. and because my car is nicest lol. I do hate taking that many people tho, mainly because of the backseat driving and wisecracks, im an aggressive driver.
