Does anyone not like aftermarket rims at all?

Sorry to all who love them, but it's RARE, and I mean RARE that I see an aftermarket rim I like. Actually, I think the design of wheels is one of the biggest problems (aesthetically) with almost every car on the road today. They're so ugly, mostly because they're too complex.
The simpler the better in my book. Five and six-spoke SE rims from the last few years look GREAT. Better than every single aftermarket rim I've ever seen except one, and that owner is on the .org. If I find him, I'll let you know. He has very slick, simple 5-spokes.
Other wheels I like: Honda has a nice 5-spoke on the recent Accords, and the newer Mirage wheels look OK.
I just love the 4th and 5th gen SE rims, though.

I like my 97 GLE 15" wheels, I just want 18" now. I agree, there are few aftermarket wheels I actually like and it seems that a lot of people have the same wheels, regardless of size. That gets old. I was picky on selecting my 18" silver wheels and there are some people that don't like what I've selected either. I really like the 16" 4th gen SE five spoke and the 17" 5th gen SE wheels. Simple, yet very nice. I'm sure a lot of people regret now getting a 17" flashy chrome wheel but have already spent the money for one set and are not about to go get another. My thoughts.
Later.

I also have a hard time finding aftermarket rims that I like, esp for the Maxima. Either I don't like the design or I like the design but they are too f'n heavy. I find that most of the aftermarket rims I like look good on BMWs (mostly BBS rims), but not on the Maxima. In my opinion the Maxima is best suited with factory rims for some reason, can't explain it. Maybe it's the lines of the car...

Like NISMO808 said...It's all a matter of preference...
I got the AE wheels because I liked the simple 6-spoke design plus the fact that they were polished...they're not as common as the regular unpolished SE 17-inch wheels...
I really love them!

i will have to agree with you that there are some really..
ugly rims out there.... however if you give me some 17 or 18's with a polished silver lip.. ill be happy... if you like 5 spoke what do you think about volk AV3 or konig monsoons?.. they are fairly simple.. thats why i bought them

Re: nice...
Nope nothing to do but bolt them on. 235-45-17 is the recommended tire size.

I was thinking of maybe getting the 16s from the previous-gen GT. I once saw a set for only $25. But if they'll bolt right up, I might grab the next set I see.
