Ipod with aftermarket headunit???

i have the alpine cva-1003 lcd with the pioneer dvd player right under the alpine unit.
my auxilary input is already taken by the pioneer dvd player. so,. if i want to hook up my ipod to my headunit, without the wireless itrip or icarplay (since sound quality is not that good with those 2) how will i be able to do this?
Has anyone done this?

pick up a pair or rca y-splitters( 1male - 2 female).... split the AUX in between your dvd player and your iPod

i just got a 20g iPod for x-mas and split the AUX in on my Alpine face between my DVD player and the iPod the way i described to you, sounds perfectly fine. As far as the cable going to my iPod, i drilled a small hole at the bottom of my armrest compartment and secured the wire underneath with a piece of duct tape to prevent it from falling back through into the console. I left enough slack for the iPod to be in my cup holder or on my lap while driving. And when i dont use my iPod i just tuck the wire into my armrest compartment.

huhmmm.....im kinda confused. because when i play dvd's, i am in aux from the alpine headunit. my dvd player is already connected to my alpine aux. where would i hook up the y-splitter? on the alpine unit or the dvd unit? or do i hook it up with the dvd unit to my ipod to my lcd?

do you happen to have a diagram?

sorry for the delay in my response... work has been totally crazy!! anyways....

are you using a dedicated Alpine DVD player?? cause if you are then you might have to use an FM modulator. If your not and the DVD player is NOT Alpine then you can do the following:
unplug your rca cables going into your alpine deck, now take the "aux" harness from the alpine deck put on the Y- adapters and reconnect up your dvd play and your i-Pod cable to them. Make sure you keep the Right(red) and Left(white) matching when you reconnect the dvd player and your i-pod cables.

any other questions just PM me!
