On the two middle posts of the spoiler, there are bolts under the trunk lid liner. On the ends, there are headless threaded studs screwed into the ends of the spoiler. These studs are just pushed into plack plastic inserts in the trunk lid.

To tighten mine, I replaced the studs with allen-head screws. I had to enlarge the holes in the trunk lid inner steel (stiffener) so the heads would fit through.

GTRblk... is you spoiler loose on one side, or both? when i bought my max, the post holding the driver's side of the spoiler was broken, so it was actually riding about a quarter of an inch off the body on the one side... it really killed me... and in fact when i asked the dealer if i could get a replacement post solely for that side, they told me that i would have to order a new spoiler.. YEAH RIGHT!! NO NEW MOUNTING PIECES??? so, i just ended up epoxying that corner down... i just had to be careful... like i said though, is your whole thing loose, or just on one end like mine?? I'd be interested to hear what you end up doing, cause i think mine is coming loose on that side again... maybe i didn't use enough epoxy... i would have hesitated epoxying it, but you can't tell at all as long as you're careful.... hmmmm....

that is pretty much the same dilemma that i had... it's like a plastic post that just slides in and snugs the corner down on each side... no tighening mechanism.... and like you said... there's no access from the underside of the trunk... is it loose on both sides though?? hmmmmm....

Are you sure there aren't any access holes near the bump stops at the edge of the trunk lid? These are the holes that I enlarged to get the allen heads in. Of course, I put silicone sealer on the spoiler holes before I put it back together.

sinewave.. these access holes.. was it metal that you had to enlarge.. sealed with a rubber grommett or something?? sorry for all the q's.. i just wonder how i overlooked it...

The far outside clips on the spoiler can't be reached, at least not without a special took, and there really is no way to tighten them without getting a new spoiler. . . They are mushroom clips and supposedly pull out somehow after the center bolts are loosened.

The holes were not sealed with rubber grommets. They are drilled into the inner sheet-metal skin of the trunk lid, close to the outside edges. You may have missed them because they are in a bend in the metal where the inner panel bends back towards the outer panel just before they meet at the edge. I wish I had a digital camera!
