Difference Between PoP charger and CAI?

Can someone please tell me what is the difference between these two items? I'm just getting confused on which one to get. Also One other tid bit, I searched the forums with the word B pipe. Nothing came up. What is a b pipe? and do I need to get one if I get a Y pipe? To many letter pipes for me to figure out. Thanks in advance

One is a cold air intake and the other is a warm air intake. The warm air intake sits in the engine bay and sucks up warm air where as the CAI as we like to call it sits in the fenderwell where is sucks up cold denser air I believe (denser air is better for the engine).

yea...the pop takes in warm or hot air while idle and driving, the CAI takes in cool air from bottom which is better but when u are driving, u still get cool air for jwt and CAI, since air is rushing in from the outside when u drive

exactly....basically why the CAI isn't better while you're "moving" is becuase at speed when you really need the better airflow...both the pop-charger and the CAI are taking in cool air. When you are stopped, and you want to start quickly, it doesn't matter than the pop-charger is sucking hot air becuase from a standstill you're fighting for traction...not power.

Rob
The B-pipe is the portion of the exhaust sytem that connects the the back of the catalytic converter and runs back to the muffler. Along with a hi flow muffler, an aftermarket b-pipe would form a complete catback system.
The Y-pipe connects to the front of the catalytic converter and runs forward.

Oh, I almost forgot to address the second part of your question... You do not need to get the new b-pipe if you get the Y, and vice versa. However, the Y-pipe alone will add more power then the B-pipe alone.

But isn't the CAI still taking in cooler air because of its position. Whereas the JWT is taking in a mix of cool and warm air.

sort of...when ur at rest or idle...it does make a little difference...also since i don't have fog lights in...i am getting more air sucked in around the intake because the engine bay is sort of in a closed area where it is hard for cooler air to reach
