I was just checking out a prelude site and doing a search on maximas. I wanted to see how these guys are doing against the max since I beat one the other night. Check the link out. Guys with Prelude Sis claiming they take out 4th gens and 5th gens by many many car lengths.. What a joke.

What if...

"I was just checking out a Maxima site and doing a search on Prelude. I wanted to see how these guys are doing against the 'lude since I beat one the other night. Check the link out. Guys with Maxima GXEs are claiming they take out Prelude Si's and SH's by many many car lengths.. What a joke."

Can't it go both ways?

Re: What if...

7 carlengths? They sound like they are driving M3s. They are actually driving 160hp preludes that weigh about 100-200lbs less than a max. If it was a SH or a VTEC lude, I would say yeah, it can go both ways. No way a NA 2.3 liter prelude si is gonna put 7-8 cars on a 4th-5th gen maxima. Auto or not.

Yeah well, let them lie to themselves to make up for their inadequacies... Feel free to put them in their place if you ever meet up with them

your acting as if they dont mod their cars as well..... this one 5spd lude was saying that if he gets a flywheel than he should be running 15.1, he has other mods that i saw visually - exhaust.... that is a joke .... 15.1.... right now i wish i had a 5spd =(

Sure, they mod their cars. But a Prelude SI will need at least intake, exhaust, headers to keep up with a stock maxima. 5-speed vs 5-speed, stock for stock, the Prelude doesn't have a payer. Auto vs Auto.. the prelude doesn't have a prayer. They get 10-15 hp from Intake, Exhaust, Headers (if they are lucky). We get 12hp, 18lb of torque from one y-pipe. I like how one dude said the GXE was easy because it was so heavy. Its the lightest maxima trim.

i've raced my friends 2000 prelude stick w/ CAI and cat back.. he beats me by like 1-3 car lengths at most.. i think a stick maxima stands a good chance vs. a stick prelude

7 car lengths? What was that guy smoking?! If you look at his mods, there's no way he can beat a Maxima that bad. I'm not saying that Preludes can't beat Maximas. I know they can beat us sometimes, and vice-versa. However, 7 car lengths??? Stock vs. stock, maybe a Prelude can take a Maxima, but it should be close.

you guys are talking about what year si im lazy so didn't follow the link, but two of my friends have preludes and both of them were fast stock. the 97 was beating type r with just intake.. its all how you drive.. the older gen one was 2.2dohc vtec and that car would haul *** too.. once it got the usual mods it was always beating cars at the races.. guess it all matters if the guy can drive.. you also have to figure maybe the maxima guy he raced couldn't drive?

I guess the maxima wasn't racing him, doing his normal 3000 or so rpm shift it will be 7 cars behind that prelude.

btw do you guys think its possible to count that there is 7 cars gap between the lude and the max?

if the prelude is stock.. i wouldn't but remmeber maxima owners aren't the only ones who mod their cars.. so just imagine what a turbocharged prelude could do to a maxima that's NA

Hate to say this, but that kinda stuff happens on every board.
I mean, if you are outsider and you so happened to surf onto this BBS sometime in the past, you will see M3 kills, 540 kills, GS400 kills, GTP kills left and right also. Most likely you would leave here thinking yeah whatever those people are full of ****.

Isn't it?

I know sometimes crap go on in BBSes. But thats just comical. I don't mind so much. For those who didn't go to the link. The link is about 4th generation prelude SIs vs 4th generation maximas. 4th generation preludes are the previous generation ones, the SIs are the non-VTEC 160hp 2.3 liter ludes. Some dudes with their SIs there claim that maximas are all easy kill.. blah blah. One claimed to beat his friend's maxima by 7 car lengths. =) Maybe he meant his friend put 7 cars on him. =) Anyways, just wanted you guys to get a good laugh. Next time you see a Prelude Si next to you. And he wants to race. Just laugh.. Then proceed to kick his butt. =)

i posted about the Vette

i posted a kill of a late 70s early 80s vette... turns out they had as little as 190hp in those years and 7.5:1 compression... they were really pretty much a disgrace. but everything got slower around that time because of the new emissions controls and the swictch to unleaded gas (like 1976 i think that was).
