I've been to a lot of kart and autocross events, I've practiced controlling oversteer a lot on snow, pushed my car to and past the limit in the dry and the wet. I know the limits of my car and usually drive considerably faster than everyone (99%) else on the road, while still keeping it safe. On clear twisty roads the rear likes to slide a bit (no sway bars) but... I'm still here and in one piece (knock on wood). One accident (not my fault) and never been pulled over (knock on wood again). I've managed to scare a passenger or two with my "normal" driving. I (like to think that I can) control my car in pretty much all situations... I hope lol
Main thing, in my opinion, is that I can drive very fast while keeping it well below my and my car's limit and, therefore, keeping it perfectly safe.

And yes, I always signal, stop for STOP signs, don't run red lights, don't double-park, let pedestrians cross, don't tailgate, don't cut people off, etc.
I said I can hold my own - I'm by no means the best driver out there... some day haha

EDIT: Just noticed something - the road in my sig is where the back end likes to break loose due to all the weight shift haha

It would be good if people post some suggestions around not only safe but smart driving too for new drivers.

When it comes to me versus anyone else, the story ends with me putting them into the wall.

When I was driving my beloved 2001 Chevy Prizm I had a car accident on August 13th of last week. The truck pulled RIGHT in front of me so I couldn't dodge him in time, so i turned my steering wheel as far left as I could so I wouldn't t-bone him. When he was hit he lost control in his big Dodge Ram and hit a motorcyclist, thank God he was able to walk away. Anywho that guy in the big truck lost control and me inside my little Chevy Prizm never lost control =P. I think that's pretty dang good, so I'd say I'm a good driver. Too bad my Chevy was totaled, but I bought a Maxima as a result. So a good thing came out of a bad thing I suppose.

Really, I'm one of the best drivers I know... I scare people with my mad reverse skills and my parallel parking and other difficult-ish maneuvers. People always get scared and think I'm too close, but I know my car. I love making people nervous. My car has more imaginary brakes in it than most, haha. I still put "I hold my own" because I'm not perfect. Two accidents (one 2 weeks after I got my max) and another at the same intersection, both not my fault. It's the other people you gotta watch out for!

I think im a good driver only been in one accident and I was rear ended so not my fault, but I say im good, after going to the Tail of the Dragon this summer I think I stack up pretty good after seeing some of the high powered cars with there drivers that go on and on to only have trouble pulling away from a 4dr sedan

i made all of my mistakes when i started to drive at age 17... lets just say i learned alot of things the hard (expensive) way and that even in the ripe old age of 20 i'm not perfect.. but i am DEFFINETALY a more seasoned and careful driver and i know what the big NO NO's are and what is acceptable and under my vehicle's and my limitations.
