Help. INJEN=Pinging/Hesitation
Alright here it is. Had my Injen for a year now, under acceleration betweeb 1000-3000RPMs, I here this raspy pinging sound. Originally I thought it was my exhaust. Under WOT the raspy pinging is gone and the roar begins. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, how did you get rid of it, new MAF? Different intake? I thinking of going FRANKENCAR anyway. I really could use some help with this issue. It's a hard sound to describe but I bet some of you might have experienced. Wainting for some help. Thanks!

man im not sure on this one, i live down in mississppi and its very hot. i never had any pings with the frankencar midpipe and jwt popcharger, but when i installed the injen intake later on i started having mild engine ping during half throttle, but not ( like you said) at wot.
at the time it could have been working in concert with some other things ( plugged egr, upgraded ecu, hot summer months, an injen intake ( filter & piping sitting right by the radiator)
if only there was a midpipe/filter setup that looked as good as the injen. mine was recently stolen and im telling myself to go with a midpipe and popcharger but i will problem go with injen again just because of the looks.

Fellas thanks for the input. Would a Frankecar get rid of that noise and increase the throttle response? That's my plan over the next few weeks. My stock box was sacrificed for some previous air intake experiments. So my MAF is okay, this is a common issue with the INJEN?

You should look into a true cold air intake, one the goes through the inner fender wall to suck air outside of the engine bay. That would yield you the best throttle response on a aftermarket intake setup. It would probably be your best choice over any others being your in a warm climate region.
