this is not my opinion- but i was wondering if anyone else has heard this?

so the kid that hooked me up with my car is tellin my other friend not to buy 5th gen cuz any year max is a grandma-car. yeah it's a sedan- but a ballsy sedan and its got sweet styling. so tell me im not the only one that gets ****

whats the deal with this. it seems like any time i tell anyone i drive a maxima they kinda sniker and say something like im preparing for a mid-life-crisis.

mid-life crisis at the ripe old age of 18? haha when you get that comment, race them, then when you beat them with your "grandma car", it will begin their mid-life crisis, and the search for a fast car to make them feel younger

My GF is 70 years young and a Great Grandma. She owns a 95 Maxima GLE that I went with her to purchase. She told salesman she wanted a car that would "Go" when she pushed the gas pedal. He laughed at her but during the test ride (he was on the edge of the back seat) she punched that car and rolled him over on his back with his feet straight up in the air he didn't laugh anymore. She bought the car then and she drives the heck outta it. We live in the country. Don't get in her way when she wants to hit the curves...

Actually mine is a Grandpa's car. And I tell every young person that when we reach the end of the 1/4, with a smile on my face of course and a shocked look on his.

Grandma does drive it occasionally though.

One of my buddies called my max an old man's car. He had a riced out civic. We were going down the highway one day and he was messing with me. A few minutes later I called him on my cell to make sure he didn't pull off somewhere cuz I couldnt see him anymore, and to tell him the granpa car just smoked his @ss.

Sure it aint a sports car, and to be honest before I drove my cousin's max when he came to visit me I would not have even considered buying one. (I now own my cousin's max)

Well, most people who know cars know this is not true. Most grannies don't like fast cars and I've never seen a granny driving a 5spd Maxima. As far as mid life crisis goes, what the hell's wrong with a 4dr sport sedan? Just consider the source in all criticisms.

Plus, I drove a 1995 Lumina LS for 8 years. Now THAT is a grandma car, so no one will be able to accuse a Maxima SE of being a grannie car in my presence and not get some sh** back about how clueless they are in regard to automobiles.

However, yours is a GLE, which I think signifies the "Grandma Luxury Environment" package. LOL

J/K!

Let em say what they want. WE all know the Max is one of the best-looking sedans, handles like a sports car, rides like a luxury car.....and for under $30k.

Then again smoking someone in my Grandma car is a bit more fun than smoking them in my Vette!

In 2000, Edmunds called the maxima the "Athlete of Family Sedans". Sure it may be a grocery getter but it can run with most cars in that same category.

I love that people think its a grocery getter... nice and sleeper... esp since I have no major cosmetic mods... keeps the cops' attention on the riced Civics, Accords, Eclipses, Integras, and whatnot...
