Should I go with 235/40/18 tires or 245/40/18 tires?

I've read on this page that the 235 size is the correct fit but the online wheel page recommends a 245 size. Which size would fit better on a 7.5" wide wheel? How much difference is there really between the two? Thanks people.

I have 225/40 and I guess i'm wrong. 235/40 is the most accurate. Also check out 215/45, but i'm not sure how accurante that is.

245 is too big for you 7.5" width rim... I have 8.5 and the tire sidewall sticks out about .25" on each side...

235/40/18 is even too wide on a 7.5 rim, but it will work. My last two sets were fine. You could go 225/40, but I would just get 235 even though the tires would stick out alittle.

The tire sticking out is better, it would protect your rims. I have 18x7.5 and running 225/40, would've gone 235/40 if they had it, and if I can do 245/40, I would do it.

Thanks guys

for the info. I think I'll do the 235 just to be on the safe side.

Now, what do you think of the Pirelli P7000 Super Sports? How's the tread life of those puppies? I hear they grip but no metion for how long.
