Install only took 1 and half hour. Car seems to have gained more in low end than high end. So far no rattles or "bees in a can sound" (maybe because i had y-pipe ceramic coated). I found it was a lot faster to just unscrew the O2 sensors before removing stock y-pipe, so there would be no need to disconnect the wiring. I had to use special curved wrench tho due to lack of room. And I also had to remove the black bracket behind the two bolts that was holding the stock ypipe up since it was in way of new ypipe ( instructions didnt mention that).

Any quick tips for me? How hard were the bolts to get off? Did you use liquid wrench?

Yeah, soaked the bolts in WD40 for an hour before starting and

need a couple extension and a flex joint, use "long" 14mm socket.

Re: y-pipe

After the car is warm, you won't notice the sound unless you put your ear up to the muffler. If you put your ear up to the muffler you will hear a throaty "blurble". When the car is cold you will hear the same "blurble" but louder. The car smells when you first start it up too.. Hehe.

Ceramic Coated?, (is it really or it is Mild Steel...)

with chrome?,

I just bought one (and would you believe it, I had no time so far to installe it?.) It is mild steel (even though the add in the net says stainless steel,) chromed.
I have never heard of the ceramis coated one. Would this one resist the winter better.

Well it comes chrome plated but I had mine recoated with ceramic coat. since>

Since it was rusty when it came out the box. Another tip for those with Stillen y-pipe. Dremel off that oval plaque that states "for off-road use only". It is a good place for corrosion to start. Especially since there is alsolutely no coating behind it. And the gap behind it will trap dirt and road salt.

Thanks,
How much for the ceramic coating?. Who would do that?, or where can I take my pipe for that? (I live in Rochester NY).

Thanks,

I don't know any ceramic coating place in N.Y. But you could try these places >

I'm from Vancouver B.C. so I had mine done locally. Another place is http://www.jethotcoatings.com/. But I have heard a few people complain about their coatings not lasting.

Got my Y-pipe w/o any gaskets. Any suggestings what to ask for? Rings? Crush? Gaskets? Sizes? Connecting to an RT Cat with the swivel flanges. (Not gonna replace those yet)

If you want the Catman SS Y-pipe then go for the $400 group deal here on maxima.org. Otherwise if price then try the Stillen through a local shop. s/b $300-$325

I got very UNlucky. Mine was much, much, much, much harder than I thought. Soo many hitches/problems. But worth it.
