Cops poppin the hoody.....

What rights do you have from that?
I've had friends pulled over, when they had nothing but a stock car and the cop pops their hood.

I had another friend say that they need papers or warrent for that or something like that.

Sure they can, its not an illegal search and seizure. The only way they need a warrant is to look in your trunk. If they have reason to believe you are hiding something they can pull you out the car and do a stop and frisk as well as search the interior of your car.

As for your hood, they were checking for VIN numbers to see if they match up or to see what engine you have in your car... ex. Civic running an H22 motor... thats definately not stock...
