"quiet" performance and power
I like modding cars and making things fast, yet keeping it nice and quiet so its not noticeable to other racers and especially COPS. who else likes "quiet" power?

That is my path as well. I have stock intake, y, 5th gen muffler. Nice and quiet around town but step on it and it gets a little more aggressive but still quieter than 99% of the mufflers out there.

i wish quiet and perfromance would go hand and hand but put the two together and it gets expensive
i got pulled over a few days ago for my exhaust wpsd ypipe magna flow 2.5in cat 2.5 b pipe with resonator and magnaflow muffler dosnt sound loud really
cop was just a jag i told him i could show proof it was all legal so he just gave me a warning he was a **** told me nissans arnt supose to sound like that what an idiot who says that
but i think for that i might get a 02 muffler prolly wont decrease any power and will sound quiet i just love the roar when i goose it with my magnaflow

Back on topic, I like the quiet power... I have a Berk intake, Cattman y-pipe, and Frankencar cat-back on my 2002 and the intake is the only thing I can hear... the sound dampening on the cat-back is so good that even guys with headers think it is too quiet... I like it though... esp for when I get headers myself...

i prefer quiet power as well. ive got berk intake, hotshot headers, testpipe, custom 2.25 resonated b pipe to stock 01 muffler. i plan on swapping the intake to the gab as the temperature is creeping up in NC and that should decrease the noise significantly.

I was thinking of going with an RS-R muffler which is supposed to be one of the quietest performance mufflers ever made... for $250 it better be! with 2 big resonators or even a regular N1 with 2 big resonators. I dont mind the noise, I'm just tired of the way the duals look... and and I want something quieter.. especially on the highway...

Im also going for the quiet aproach.
But i like to look agressive but sound quiet.
Right now i have just a hacked airbox.
Next im buying a y-pipe and underdive pulley.
mevi also will keep you quiet but i dunno if you can run it wih a stock intake.

I have a Ravin muffler... sounds great. Most of the tone is from the 1000-2600 RPM range... after that it starts to drown out. And no annoying bee can sound either. In fact, it has a half muscle car, import tone to it. It chugs at idle, but not loud. And gives of a nice deep rich tone when accelerating.

In fact... this is almost how mine sounds. http://www.goravin.com/snds.html Click on the 95 Chevy Blazer.

I'll agree 100% with anybody who likes to keep the sound levels down. With all these kids running super loud, tin can exhausts on their Civics, the cops take real notice to that. I'd bet that the difference between getting a ticket for only going over the speed limit by a couple of mph, and not getting a ticket could sometimes be little things like a car that is as loud as a Harley. Another thing about loud cars is that it draws unnecessary attention to your car, so you might get pulled over for tint instead. Combine your loud exhaust with your 2ooo watt stereo, and cops are begging to bust your beans. Some cars are so loud that it sounds like you are going faster than you really are, and the cops pull you over for the hell of it. I have an HKS rear section (real quiet), frankencar mid pipe with Secret weapon R (sw1) filter which is not obnoxiously loud. I will be getting a warpspeed y-pipe soon. My car (2k2 six speed se) is a sleeper-stillen fstb, stillen rear sway, tokico blues, eibach's, hawk pads, raceconcepts drilled/slotted rotors, short throw shifter, the huge stereo, tint, some carbon fiber interior pieces ,and 18" primax 786 wrapped in Avon tech m550 225/45/wr18's. The only thing that stands out are the rims.
