quick question

Will an aftermarket VG Y-pipe fit on a VQ? I didn't think it would; just wanted to make sure. Reason being, I installed a supposed VQ on my '95, no major problems, but just got the invoice which reads VG 1989-1994. Did I possibly get the wrong part? Or just the wrong invoice? Thanks for the help.
