Convertible Maxima....

Convertible 4th gen Maxima sighted in Stamford Connecticut today. At first glance it looked like another rag-top sedan (like old caddies)...After a few moments I realized it was retractable top (or at least looks like it), the molding around top of the doors was custom and very thin. I took 8 pictures on my motorola i860 but am having problems sending the pics to my e-mail...If anyone knows how, please help me out...I will post pics ASAP.

and no.......this is not an april fools joke

Maxima Convertable? Naaaaaa who would spend that kind of money on a car that really hasn't much value. The cost of making it into a rag top would exceed the original sticker price and probably wouldn't yeild a big return when it was sold.

We had a custom made BMW 850 convertable in our shop last year. The owner told us it cost over 30 grand to have the car converted. Sub frame connectors had to be installed to compensate for the lack of support once the roof was cut off. The car today is valued a little over 50 grand, it's a one of a kind.

yeah, there is a convertable maxima out there somewhere. there was a thread about this 6+ months ago. evidently the owner had a lot of dammage to the roof, and just had a soft top installed. not sure how exactly true it is, but I am just repeating what i read... don't kill the messenger.

Value is in the eye of the beholder. I don't think u would convert a maxima into a convertable with the intent of making a large profit. I would like to see the pics though...
