I hope you weren't driving it when it happened, could only imagine the worse while driving with no brakes.

Well here's the story...as I picked up my car on the way to the gym to get my buff on, I get cut off by this utility truck...so, I naturally slam on the brakes. Upon doing so, I heard a pop and felt the pedal go all the way to the floor. I didn't panick but was confused...so I pulled over and I'check the resavoir and see the fluid is lower than usual, next...I check the wheels and brakes and see that the line on the passenger side has crapped out...here's the picture:

Didn't feel like getting it towed home, so I cruised in 2 gear and utilized the E-brake to get my car home...took abour an hour longer but I got home safe. so...with almost no other option but to put on my stockers...I went ahead and started that process...got them on and started to bleed them. I was not really able to get them done last night due to my fiance not having strong enough legs to keep pumping... I did bleed them for about 2 hours last night, but I can just imagine the amout of air I gotta deal with.

Darn... I was hoping for more carnage than that

Has to suck, But that's what happens when you start upgrading... the one week point you removed to make the system stronger, now made something else down the line the weakest point. But atleast it this shows the braided line is still the weakest point in the system.

Nupe's contributed to enough maxima carnage. Time for someone else to take the candle.

Upon further inspection, the lines were rubbing and I'm guessing against the strut housing. Either case...I'm hosed. I've ordered new lines and they should be on the way tomorrow, but my new issue is that I am having serious problems bleeding the system. Look for new thread

CAN DO!!!!!!!! I'm going to have my wife video tape me cutting a hole in my hood. Still trying to decide on how I want to do it. Plasma cutter is out of the question, it'll ruin the paint.

I wish I had the funds to get a body kit, do the hood scoop, and get it painted.

So I guess I'm going to have to saw it out. Or course I could always dremel it out. The router attachment would allow me to keep the lines staight.

All the possibilities for carnage All the possibilities for screwing it up

Sorry, but the way you originally wrote the first post... I got all wound up. It's like going to a NASCAR race. You don't go to see them run around in circles... you go for the crashes. I had that same thrill going

i blew my ss brake lines once, but that's cuz the bracket that held the hardlines where the ss lines connected up to them was at a weird angle and rubbed on my rsb bolt, and yes i did install the rsb correctly with the cap screw head facing out. i bent the bracket and my ex drove me to stillen to pick up another set the very next day =D.. sucha sweet girl. it's scary tho, i came so close to rear ending the car infront of me..
i'm glad to hear nothing major happened to your car beyond brake failure.

I've seen that happen a lot on the rear end of 4 and 5 gens... usually I just stick a piece of rubber hose around the section that's rubbing and zip tie it on. keeps the line from being damaged.
