Stillen is finishing up with my car. They sent my SC to Vortech to have it converted to a full S unit with 10 lbs. of boost. It is the same unit they use on the mustang and the boost develops earlier than the Maxima unit.

Next the car is going to Climax racing where they will fabricate a custom air to water aftercooler. The water tank will be located to the trunk alongside the water injection tank because of space considerations. I'm not sure where the radiator heat exchanger will be but Bill told me not to concern myself, he'll take care of it. Also, they will be installing a new higher output mass air meter which will go before the supercharger. When they're done at Climax, the car will head to Jim Wolf for the final ECU work and tuning. Jim will be in touch with Climax to make sure the project comes out correctly.

When this is done, maybe we'll get to see what an internally stock Nissan 3.0 L is capable of!!

Ron,
You have to bring your car to this year's Maxus. We are going have a 1/4 mile track event.

Sounds great Ron. I eagerly await your next visit to Burbank, I might actually have a Max by then.

Must be a very expensive project. Btw, how much it cost to send the SC to Vortech to get it converted?

cost of SC conversion and maxus

They told me around $200.00, I don't know the exact price yet.

By the way, if maxus is in DC this year I won't be going since we're moving to vegas in 2 1/2 weeks, maybe next year.

$200? That's it? Hm...that's not expensive. Unless you mean $2000.

Dang, Ron... I guess it was YOU that Ben at JW Tech was talking about today... Went to visit them on my day off... It's a very small place... hehe... but the folks seem nice enuf.

Is there a way to "cap" maximum boost on a supercharger?
I don't know of such a device but it must exist in lieu of a wastegate which is normally found on turbos...
