well i was just looking into buying a b-pipe for my 96'. i haven't heard anything negative about their b-pipes yet.

I just got my B-pipe on Thursday. Will be complementing my Budget Y-pipe that is already installed. No complaints from Budget/LSS.

 

I will be buying an aluminized y-pipe and b-pipe w/ resonator from them in a few days, I think somone on the org posted up a video with the same setup, it sounded close to stock. My stock b-pipe rusted and broke, thanks to canadian winters. Dont mean to hijack your thread or anything but anyone know if itll be ok if I keep the stock muffler?

 

Its fine to keep the stock muffler, but do yourself a favor and buy the stainless steel components, not the aluminized ones, if you live in Mississauga and have to endure the Ontario winters. Stainless steel is the only way to go for you. Don't be a cheapskate!

I've had the Budget Y & B combo with stock muffler for over a year now and I love the noise level and sound. Unfortunately the muffler body is rusting and ugly to look at and I'm going to replace it soon. Someone supplied me pics of the 5th gen muffler on a 4th gen and because the tip is rectangular shaped it just didn't look right. It doesn't fill in the half circle opening.

 

You can make the hole in the bumper fit with a little work. A lot of people have done it. You may also want to look at the 02-03 since it had dual tips instead of the oval tip that fit over both pipes.

 

Thanks for the input guys. I will buy the stainless steel unit, its only an extra $50. Hopefully, tomorrow I will be going to pick it up, and getting it installed. I'll keep you guys posted. My muffler body is also rusting away but it still is functioning properly, so I'll keep the stock one for now.

 

I thought I heard last year that if you go to the Budget shop that they will install the exhaust components for you. Mention that you are a maxima.org member. If memory serves me correctly they will install it for free, but I might be dead wrong on that one. No harm in trying. If they do charge, it will likely be reasonable.

 

You're so lucky to be close to Hamilton because the price includes installation!
I visited Budget once on a business trip and found that they're in a business park area. The premises is not much to look at but their stuff is good. I thought of bringing the Y pipe home as a carry-on but the things too bulky to handle and so they just Purolated it to me.
