the left rear brake on my 96 se has been stuck engaged for the past couple of days...

i noticed problem when car would slow down rather than coast.. and i've had to clean black buildup on my rim very often..

i also noticed my left brake is almost completely worn out

and the E brake handle has been very loose feeling..

i had to pull the wire from the E brake line to disengage the left brake...

what to do ? how do i check for kinks ? lubrication needed ?

everything is fine for now.. i just won't use the e brake to park from now on until fixed...

it is definately the cable...

Did you replace yours? Mine sticks too. I can actually see damage on the passenger side cable.

no because its alot of work. you have to take off the exhaust, and cat (maybe) to get to the heat shields.. the cable runs along the top of it and then splits towards the rear..
mine also sticks in the really cold weather.. the line frezzes up somehow.....

I was driving around and did a e-brake slide and my back right cabale got jamned on. So I starting driving and the car felf all messed up and saw smoke comming from my rear tire. Anyways I just jacked the car up and disconected the cabale so I could drive home. I got home and lubricated the cable with some WD-40 but it did not help so now my car's back right e-brake does not work. I will be attempting to fix it again soon. BTW this is on my 95 max.
