Very Dissapointed at the Track Tonight

Long story short because its late. 3 runs.
1st - 60': 2.577 1/4: 17.261 @ 81.12
2nd - 1/4: 17.3
3rd - 1/4: 17.1
Dont have all the info for last 2 runs because theyre computer messed up, sorry. I bogged the first 2 runs; launched about 2500rpms. 3rd run I hit it at like 3500rpms.
Needless to say Im not happy with these times. Not sure what the problem was. Maybe it was because Id never raced a 5speed up at a track, or the exhaust leak or hot engine. But whatever, its mainly my fault.
I ran 17.1 in my old '95 Z26. I know my Max is faster than that car.
Questions, comments, concerns very welcome.

We need more info
Since your timeslips didn't come out right I suggest trying again. But from your first run I can tell that your launch is too soft. Also which track do you run at, is it at or close to sea level? What rpm were you shifting at and do you finish in 3rd or 4th gear? I believe you should be shifting around 6200rpm for 1-2, 6000 for 2-3 and leave it in 3rd gear to the finish. Ideally you want your 60ft times to be in the 2.0-2.2 range for good ET's.

I usually launch at 4000 rpm and ride the clutch out a bit...

Recently, I switched to a smaller drag wheel/tire combo for the front, effectively yielding lower gearing, and allowing me to upshift sooner at every gear change. I shift into 4th about 150' before the finish line nowadays, which gives the engine a chance to PULL nicely through the trap.
