I've got my shocks & spring today, what else do I need? -->

Hey guys,

I am ready to lower my max but I wonder if I need something else (other than the shocks, springs and boots)

Where do you guys get the boots from?
I saw tirerack has some for KYB with a bonded bump stop, would these fit Tokicos?

How about the strut bearing (or busing I think it is called)
Does any one know the OEM part numbers for these? (maybe I can order them from the NET)

How about the seat (tirerack has these mounting kits for KYB that include the upper seat, the one with the bolts on it)?

I am sure you could appreciate these questions, often times one starts and figures out (in the middle of it) that you need something and it is a trip to the store or worse to wait with your car lifted riding a bicicle to work.

Thanks guys for your help.

boots are always a good thing to change when you're changing springs and/or struts/shocks...one less thing to do later. other than that that's all you'll need. boots i got from courtesy..pricey though...

Just get the KYB struts. The strut mounts from KYB are not compatible. Better to go Nissan OEM

If you are doing the install yourself...make sure to have a spring compressor!

I already talked with someone else from this forum who had the same problem I did. KYB f***ed up when they made the strut mounts. Tirerack in fact gave me a full refund and I replaced the strut mounts with Nissan OEM.

I would call Courtesy Nissan and ask them for the prices and part numbers for the strut mount and dust boots. The combo is not cheap though, but I would recommend replacing it. I've had lowered suspension for around 20k miles now, and have total 52k on my car and my strut mounts are getting noisy. Time to replace them (as soon as I get those AGX's, which may be in a year or so..gotta wait until other people test them out first).
