I love my maxima, seriously its a great car and for the price i don't think you can get a much better package of performance/comfort/style, but it just sucks whenever i see a maxima and then notice that like 9/10 times its an old lady driving it...that just sucks! anyone agree w/me?

I remember reading somewhere that the average age of a Maxima owner is like 43. So don't be surprised.

It makes me proud to know I can afford a nice car at my age that most people can't afford until they are much older...
And It makes me laugh at the old men who are ****ed off I drive the same car as them at 45

Unless of course your a spoiled little kid and daddy bought the car and pays for your gas...then I hate you.

What really makes me sad is that only 3% of the Maximas sold in 2000 were 5-speeds.

Agrees !!!!

After reading this post I did start observing the owners of the Maxima. Today morning I saw 5 Maximas while coming to work. One was mine driven by my wife who is only 27 but the other 4 were ALL women ranging from upper 30s to mid 40s. Sucks to see a very good car in the hands of people who drive 10 MPH below the posted limit!! Ah well!

Then again...

This weekend I saw a young skater looking dude washing his 91SE (identical to mine) I slowed down and gave him a "nice car nod". He looked at me like I was a moron. So I slid down into my leather seat a bit, stuck my finger in the lighter socket, and thought to myself...where's that old woman in her 2001 model that wanted to wrap her lips around my tailpipe?

what about when you've been working since mid april and have already made about 700 dollars, along with the near 1k your parents owe you for all the **** you did for them. Then count in the couple g's in the bank saved over the years, then plan on working the rest of the summer to have a total of about 7 or 8k to make a hefty downpayment on a 97 se 5spd? Then you plan in working the rest of the time to pay her off. "Daddy" pays for insurance. Thas it.. not a spoiled little kid over here.. just workin damn hard for that car. The worst thing is that i live in a place where most of the kids just get cars (there is a junior at my school with a brandnew 3 series, getting a new m3 next year) Just thought i'd share my story

I haven't noticed the "old lady" phenomenon too much around here. Believe it or not, I see a fair share of young people and a couple of modded Maxes here and there. Guess I'm lucky.

I only think it bothers us more because we put enough into our cars that we associate our car with perfomance and speed, kinda bursts your bubble to see some old fart driving it.

I'd rather see old people driving Maximas than say, a Ford Taurus or Pontiac Grand Am. I don't mind if I see peeps driving Accord/Camry though, since those are both excellent family sedans. The more Maximas on the road, the better, in my opinion.

What gets me is when I come across a 4th gen SE and an older guy (older than me!) is driving it like a cadillac cruiser. All that hp gone to waste.

I always see old ladies stuck in parking lot with their brand new IS300 they didn't know how to get out and they stop where there is like 4 feet of space behind them... I almost fell alseep waiting... Then she started driving out the lot like 5mph and keeps hitting the brakes... guess shes trying to show everyone how cool her altezza is!!

Old people driving Maximas slowly keeps our insurance rates down.
