Personally, I'd go w/ the slotted.

Heard about people having problems with drilled but have yet to see it with my previous 4 sets of crossdrilled...

Am I pressing my luck? Don't think that's to do with it as it is knowing how to take care of them...

not all x-drilled rotors will crack like that. 9 times out of 10 the cracking is due to improper treatment especially during the break-in period...

Doesn't matter what car it came from...

Aside from break-in... you still need to take care of them (or any other rotor for that matter).

Improper torquing of the lugnuts, spraying them with water when they are still hot, improper cool down, etc...

I have a question for those guys that have their x-drilled or slotted rotors creck. What type of pads do you use? Are they performance pads, or stocks, pepboys, or something else. I have heard that if you don't use performance pads on slotted or x-drilled rotors then they will crack, as well with proper break in that is crucial.

I not sure about cracking caused by the use of 'non performance' pads... I don't see the logic behind that claim. However, the majority of the 'increased' performance can be obtained by just the install of good 'hi performance' brake pads.

Crossdrilling is mostly for weight savings and (as SprintMax pointed out) more suspectible to cracking if 'abused'. Slotting is more resistant to cracking and has a higher thermal load limit (vs. crossdrilling but not vs. nondrilled/nonslotted). Both are mostly for visual impact.

Well I have yet to see any cracks on my rotors. I just looked while cleaning my rims. Not 1 of all 4 have a crack. I did follow the directions on the manuel from stillen. I have had the breaks for more then a year now, just about 14 months. I had to change the Stilen pads after about 8 months cause they were completely gone. That just shows how hard I do run my car. After those went out I went ahead and bought the Poterfield brake pads. So far so good for those pads. As you see in the pic no prob.

Sprint, didn't yo mama teach you that you have to own it for it to be called yours? The cars outside in the garage are the grownups cars, and the silver thing that rides on rails is yours.
