i would like to kbe sponsored but not by scp they are horrible they owe my friend soo much money it is not funny they are stating that he never won any of the events that he had entered meanwhile he has the 1st place trophe's and the 5 figure sponsorship only works upon the price of what you buy lets say you buy a cai $290 they will only take lets say for instance 30% off do not think your geting stuff for free but they do pay you for going to events if you can get them to pay!!

A sponsorship to me is when the company pays for everything not a percentage of the product. Its very hard to get a full sponsorship. I was at the SEMA show in AC and there was not one Maxima being shown. I know that there are alot of moded out Maximas out there. Its like we get no respect. Later Warren

Why not? I seen alot of Maxima's at meets and cardomain including yours that look better than some of the cars that are sponsored. My friend chernmax from Maryland is being sponsored fully by redlinemax.com and there are a few others. It's just hard to find one. Later Warren

I was just being sarcastic. I understand why companies don't sponsor maximas(age demographic of most owners), but i wish they would.

Carsponsorships.com isn't what I would call a scam. It's not SCP where all sponsorships are just discounts. We actually supply CS with products, and I know the owner personally. They sign on a bunch of companies that do supply the product. The only complaint I hear is that people don't get products from the companies they want. Here is the thing, when that happens, it's most likely because the company doesn't want to sponsor that particular car. We've turned down a ton of cars that CS has sent to us. Then I'm sure the owner of the car goes around and tells everyone that CS is a scam when it's just that the car isn't up to standard. CS doesn't collect the fee unless the applicant actually gets free product, partial sponsorships don't count.

Personally though, if you want to be sponsored, call the company you want the product from. It works out a lot better that way. It's a lot more work, but you'll actually get the products you want.

Over the past few years, my car and my wife's Integra have been fully sponsored by

AEM
Airmass
Alphasonik
Corbeau
Dunlop
Fluidyne
Holley
Infinity
JBL
Katzkin
Nitrous Express
NOS
Polk Audio
Valvoline
Vitek Performance

and several local shops for paintwork, dyno time, engine work, etc as well as a bunch of partial sponsorships. And most of my friend's cars each have multiple full sponsorships. None of these sponsorships was obtained through an agency. It's all about going to shows, meeting the right people, calling them, emailing them, and generally being professional.

Emailing the marketing director and saying "Hi, I'd like a sponsorship" is the quickest way to get your email deleted. I know this because I get about 7-8 of these emails every day, quite a few from Maxima guys, and I don't even bother to read them anymore. Not once has the person or the car been sponsorship material when their email started out like that. Take the time to actually lay out your plan, let the company know what you will be doing for them. At least then, you'll get some sort of consideration. But emails are too easy to delete. Phone calls and actual letters are much more effective.

If your car is stock, your chances of getting fully sponsored are minimal. Companies want to see that you put time, effort, and money into your car. This shows that you have dedication, plus who wants to see a stock car at a show. The only reason companies sponsor is so that their name gets out there, it's not to help you, so emailing a company and telling them that they should sponsor you because otherwise you can't mod your car is stupid (sounds obvious, but I've received multiple emails that prove otherwise.) The only way companies sponsor stock cars is if they belong to a business or individual who they have dealt with in the past and the car is some sort of project car that will be crazy when it's finished.

And to the original poster, you just got scammed. SCP doesn't even have a warehouse, they just get distributors to drop ship for them. And your sponsorship price is going to be about what you'd pay anyways from eBay or an internet shop.

Thank you very much for that information. I been trying and getting nowhere. Sent e-mails, spoke to ppl at shows.I will keep on trying. I was at the Sema show last week in AC, no one was making anything for the 6th gen Maxima. I am driving down to Florida next week and will be attending some shows and Maxiima meets. Persistence is the key, some of our sponsorships took 5-6 months of constant calls to finalize. BTW, did you email us regarding sponsorship? Your picture looks familiar, I haven't gone through all the requests from the past week as we just had HIN in town.

decalkits.com is a vinyl company they make custom vinyls as well as full side vinyls etc.. yes the vinyl stays on my car for the term of 12 months but i decide on every selection i make. 12 months worth of free vouchers for vinyls(they do not make PARTS) each month i go on there website and choose a vinyl i like then send them the voucher for it, about 2 weeks later i recieve my vinyl. My obligation is to promote there business by advertisement or word of mouth. Also i have to include Photos of my car with each new vinyl and at any events i attend etc...decal kits.com did the vinyls for fast and furious..

getting sponsored is cool. but i've also known people who get sponsored and get into a dilemna cause they cannot go to the meets for some really good reason. well guess what. you don't have to be there. but your car does. End of story. If you're not gonna be at the meet or show that they tell you to be, you're car is gonna be there regardless if you still want to get sponsored.

I'm sponsored, however not everything is free, there are some out of pocket expenses, but that's just part of the business. Any sponsor would be foolish to give a full sponsorship without being able to gauge your return on his investment. In time, if you REPRESENT at car shows, word of mouth and get a good network going for your client, they may increase their capital investment in you. Bottom line, if your happy, thats all that matters...
