I say you go around to your local body shops and see an estimate of the damage. if it's not too bad, it'll be around <1k for the rear quarter panel.

i can hook you up with a bumper, but the rear quarter panel is where actual damage took place, thats where the body shop will be needed. I have a 96 rear bumper, good condition, for 125. It's white, but you can have it painted. Let me know if i can help you with anything.

If you don't want any wise asses responding, then maybe you should have thought about the idiocy required to damage you vehicle to this extent.

You will likley need to replace the rear bumper. IMHO, you might as well get an aftermarket bumper since it will need to be replaced anyway. The body damage can be fixed at any generic body shop it all that is present are pait scrapes.

That sucks... I know from experience. Yours isn't as bad as mine was but a very good body shop wanted like $3500 to do mine. That was a new bumper and new quarter panel. Yours may be able to be fixed and I ended up fixing mine as well but a body shop will be expensive.

Based on your pics it doesn't look that bad to me. There really isn't any correlation between "how bad it looks" and how much it costs at a body shop. Your car looks like a 95-96 so I'd say might be worth it to just leave it. I know a guy, friend of my bro's who had his dad back into his 2k3 with a Ford Expedition, did some damage to the rear left. He's never fixed it because it doesn't bother him. Then again, he didn't know his car had a 6th speed for more than a year after he bought the car......

btw when you say you were looking for a drunk friend, were you buzzed yourself or sober? I saw this drunk dude at the shore last night who was groping everyone's g/f in front of the boyfriend--he was headed for trouble because not everyone is into free-love like I am. Lucky his buddy apologized to people and dragged him out....

Just because the car may be a 95 or 96 doesn't mean its not worth fixing. I would get that fixed ASAP as it would bother me to look at it. I suspect it will cost at least $500 and possibly $1,000 to get it fixed properly.

That's because a broken arm will heal by itself, but a wounded Max won't j/k

Maybe it's just your pics, but the damage doesn't look that bad. The bumper and quarter panel don't look like they need to be replaced. I say try to fix it yourself. Pound out the dent; feather the edges; prep and paint; top off with clear; buff to a shine, and you're done. That's what I did when I scraped a pole in a rental. Probably spent $20 and half a day on it. They never charged me, so I guess it was good enough. If that doesn't work, then you can always take it to a bodyshop and have them redo it. Good luck.

That's too bad...did you at least find your friend? You were trying to do the right thing anyway so you can feel good about that.
