Boosted Maximas please check in.

Please post your year, type of boost, psi you are running, hp and any other info you might have. I am having a disagreement and need to show some proof, seems people do not believe the Maxima can run on 10-12psi on 91 octane, people are calling it "overkill" and saying it could only do that in "spurts". Please check in.

NOT boosted but;

10-12 is NOT overkill. Its a high amount, but not extreme. I know of 1 turbo max that would spike to 14psi - and another one that was dynoed at 16psi.

As long as it's TUNED right, there really shouldnt be too many issues. The air/fuel mixutre is what determines the life of the motor

Nice tread. To bad they don't have SC's or TC's for the 6th Gen. I am running about 310 hp at the crank. Injen CIA, Racing Pulley and Greddy SP-2 Cat-Back System. I just had a CE Y-Pipe installed and will have it dynoed when I come back from my drive to Florida. Later Warren

With the right fuel management 10-12 psi is not that big of a deal, as far as what the motor can handle. You could blow a motor on 5psi, it is how you have it tuned. I would be more worried about the tranny on a 12lb boosted maxima and the motor.

I would agree that 91 octane is not ideal, but with some timing retard it is fine. I don't think I would want to run 12lbs of boost on a hot day with stock timing and 91 octane.

Then there is the difference between 12psi on a turbo maxima and 12psi on a SC maxima. You can get away with alot less with the SC. [B]In general[B] 12 psi on a SC max is worth 325-350 hp and about 250-275 torque. 12psi on a turbo maxima, in general is more like 350-400 hp and 350-375 torque. So the question needs to be more specific as to what type of boost your refering to.

Previously ran 12 psi street, 14-16 when I got greedy @ 91-93 octane.

Donald. 1st of all, use the correction section. 2ndly, you KNOW there are guys running 10+ psi on pump gas. Research and you will find it.
