Random Maxima Thoughts

so i was sitting here...i had just drove around a very nice Mustang GT and was thinking about something insane...actually not too insane but insane enough...what if one were to in some way be able to drop a GT in a maxima..mmmm the power...i dont know if its ever been done but it would be something pretty cool to see. i love the sound of GT, theres always a big different. im not talking like a Mustang GT just whatever would fit if at all possible...im also not very sober right now hence the reason for my ramblings cheers!

My grandpa got me to like the 200 series Volvos, and we used to tinker with them. There was a Gothenberg Bible that had how to do everything. With that, it was amazing how wrong and difficult many of the Haynes manual's procedures were.

Anyway, there was also a procedure available for putting a 5.0L Mustang motor into a 200 series Volvo. And it had been done many times. Probably helps that the 200 is RWD. Not really sure how you're gonna use the Ford Tranny in a Maxima, probably can't since the Max is FWD.

Having owned Mustang GTs before and my latest being a 99 GT, I can tell you the quality of those engines are not very good compared to the high quality of the 3.5 in the Maxima.

To me my 05 SE Maxima feels faster than my Mustang was without a doubt and has about the same horsepower it did but with a bit less torque. The V8 in the GT produced good torque but the horsepower was lacking. Of course most people would put in either super chargers or turbos into them and make alot more power but witht he chessy powdered metal pistons and rods as well as the head desings, they just cant take too much hard driving in the factory state. Of course you could rebuild the crappy factory parts but they weren't cheap with the 4.6 engine like the 5.0 was.

Anway I sold my mustang GT a few years ago and I will never own another one.

I like my VQ! I think the amount of awards it has won says enough.
