After How Many Days?

I just got my car back from the body shop. How long should I wait to wash it and wax it? I repainted the whole car.

What color did you paint it? Which one the 96 or 05? The paint shop should've given you guidance regarding your question though.

What's your dad have to do with this? Stand on your own two feet, get on the phone and start asking questions yourself!

Dude, pick up the phone and call the paint shop, should be easier than asking all of us since the shop should know more of the details about your paint job, cleaning and waxing differ by types of paintjobs. CALL....

It's probably still a good idea to ask the shop just in case so you don't void any warranty that they, or your father may have provided.

i dunno who told you guys not to wash your car for 30-45 days but i can assure you that is not true. Think about it. You just get a new paint job and you dont wash your car for a month and a half. In the summer your front bumper and hood will be Covered in bugs and eating away at your clear coat which will be even softer since it was just painted. We paint our cars the day after they are painted sometime and there is no negative effects to doing so. Washing your car will not hurt your new paint job as much as not washing it will. Now waxing on the other hand is a whole different story you need to let your paint and clear cure totally before waxing it. which will take a couple months.

My car is Diamond coated and I have been told by a reputable body shop in the paste that it can be re-applied after a month following fresh paint. I think the same would apply to most wax jobs, wait 30 days.
