Yes it's true...
Yours truly just took out a crotch rocket with his Maxima...
Felt REALLY good too...
Haven't done this since the ole' days w/ the civic...
After toying w/ this guy for about 10mi on the Garden State Parkway, we finally hit a toll plaza...
It was around 9:30PM so there wasnt many cars going North...
I waited for him to drop the change and we were off...
I got the jump on him (about 2 car lengths)...
He didn't catch me till the top of 3rd gear (100mph+)...
Then he started pulling on me EVER SO SLOWLY...
So I let off...
He gives me the thumbs up (surprisingly)...
Turns out that we both got off at exit 90...
We get to the light and he's infront...& he motions to me to pull up next to him....
I do...then he raises his visor...familiar face...
Turns out I know the guy...my friends ex-boss...
He compliments me on my cars and asks how the he11 it's so fast...i told him "a little boost"...
He starts laughing cuz last time we talked I had a turbo civic...
Guess he thinks I'm a boost-*****...
I am.

Either he wasn;t trying too hard or he was really fast. :-) I'm sure your car is fast but aren't those crotch rockets good for a 10.50 qtr mile at around 130mph+ ? I used to own one and I would dust any car ALWAYS...Vipers Ferrari's etc. 0-60 is about 3 sec and 0-100 is under 6 sec. I'm tellng ya there's no comparison unless they are racing a Formula One car and then it'll be even up until aroun 130-140...

BUT those bikes are always fun to race....

No...I beleive the YZF 600 is a 12 sec bike...
and his didn't sound too hot...
actually it sounded like A$$...
My car runs 13's...
Judging by his launch he's not a great rider...

The YZF and Katana bikes are only about 80 HP or so in the 600 series...The honda cbr, suzuki gsx, yamaha r6 and kawa zx6r ninja are the mid 10 second bikes with around 110 HP in the 600 cc class for bikes. Also, it depends alot of the skill of the rider. Even though I have a capable 10.2 second honda bike, with my level of experience i could only pull probbly a high 13...

Well then Kudos... I probably run high 14s with my intake and Y pipe and synthetic fluids. I beta a Harley tonight by a smidge. Really ****ed the guy off.

Those Yamahas really need to be revved way the heck up there to get any hp. The Kawasakis and new Suzukis have loads of torque. Hey, Even beating a poorly shifted rice burner is still comendable!

I had a 1991 Ninja ZX11 with a dyno of 145 hp to the rear wheel. I wiegh 240 and could pull 135+ in a qtr mile! I miss racing those 911 Turbos and Vipers... but now taht I have a baby those daring days are over. :-( Does the boost make that big of a difference?

yea that YZF was prolly older style not too fast. R6's can run high 10's with good rider. Amateur rider can pull anywhere from those 10's to 13's. I ran low 11's on my 94 F2 but i dont ride that good, mods were jet kit, filter, exhaust.

btw, they found my bike tonite!!! YAY!!! arrested the punk b*tch that stole it too!

Adam, you are a dirty dirty man.

My friend just got a suzuki gsx 2 months ago. He has chip, intake, and some kind of exhaust. Anyways, the sucks relines at 12.5k rpms. It is def a 10 sec bike and his is pushing around 110-115 to rear wheels. Too bad he has a terrible launch too.

A rare;y see anyone at my track that can launch a bike effectively. It also scares the Hell out me watching them take off with a big wheelie and dragging their feet. Anyways, with bad launches, I've never seen a sport bike go any slower than 12s. Most are in the lower 12s/higher 11s at 115-120mph.

I saw a Hybusa run about a month ago. He babied it off the line and still ran a 9.48@147mph. How's that for insanely fast?
