I'm 30 yrs and getting older by the second. But you know what, for most of us, this stuff is a just a hobby. It's like fishing or sailing, etc... I see it as a way to get out of the house, have some fun, and even spend time with my son. He's only 9, but his 2 favorite cars' are a Nissan Skyline and Toyta Supra. It's nuts, 'cuz somedays we'll be just driving around, and he'll be like, "Whoa Dad, did you see the intercooler on that Civic!" I think he's already got the bug. And guess what, no matter what my GF says, I don't want to !!!!!!!!!

I'm 54 next month and bought a Budget y-pipe a year ago. Car is virtually stock except for K&N panel filter and FSTB. Thinking about an RSB after I buy new tires.
But no I'm not interested in a hacked air box, LEDs, altezzas etc. etc and I prefer my Black Emerald paint without adding any clear corners.
Not interested in lowering the car or dubs either.
The Max is a 5-speed. I like the sleeper look and its fast enough for me.

Mine is heavily modded for performance but I agree about the look, I kept it very very stock looking. 11 years to go till 30. Most people here seem to be in their early to mid 20's, but there seems to be alot over 30.

I'm 37 and I'm just trying to keep my car running economically, though after reading some of the posts here, I'd love to do some modifications. With a small child and a wife, I don't take as many risks as I used to, but I do like to drive fast. Once I get a couple problems fixed (EGR system problem and ball joint replacement) I'll think about tuning everything else up a bit..

58, modding and just won 2nd prize in a show. The guy asked for some infromation, so why not give him some. No matter who starts a tread there is always some one knocking it down.

I'm 31 and still modding, though things have changed drastically for me. When I had my Maxima, I was always thinking "what's next" and I constantly seemed to be wrenching/modding it in some way. I spent countless hours in the garage. Constantly thinking about my car and mods grew tiresome....and expensive. Then last November we had a baby boy and some of the priorities changed. It still didn't stop me from getting my G in Janaury though I'm definitely modding this car, but to the extent I did the Maxima. So far my mods have been minimal and cheap, but she is definitely not "stock" though I have used factory parts for everything except tint and paint.
-350Z pedals
-350Z intake pipe
-G coupe springs
-OEM splash guards
-painted grill (black)
-05 reverse light housings (much cleaner)
-35/20 tint
With this car, I seemed to be more focused on refining the looks. It's already pretty quick for stock (damn near as fast as my Maxima was modded). I'll add a few HP mods, but most of the money will go into body work and wheels. Maybe an LSD pumkin swap from a 350Z.
I have no plans to stop modding and I firmly expect to be buying either an 03 Cobra, S2000, 97 SS Z28 for a 3rd "fun" car where refinement/ride/noise takes 2nd place to all out performance.

Leave this fast sleeper stuff for the young'uns.
BTW Lowering is ok but the dubs are definately out.

I turn 30 this year. I'm pretty much done modding my Maxima. Just have to install some new Tokico Blues and I'm finished. Yep, done, that's it, no more. I'm going to be focusing the majority of my time and energy on my Camaro project. Does that count?

Yup, your are right Dave. One thing that intrigues me about the G35 Sedan is the stock parts from the coupe and Z that bolt on for a mild lowering/stiffer ride.

My wife would like to think the mod bug will go away with age.... hope she doesn't see this thread ..lol.. I know it never will. I will always want to make my car better/different than the rest of the cars on the street. I'm a VW Audi tech... so my love for Nissan is misunderstood at work. I think the next round of mods are in order, FI and 5spd swap. If not I'm going to end up buying a 2000-2002 S4 and mod that
