i pay $720 a year for full coverage. but that's because my mom is awesome and has it under her name with her home owners and a two car discount. her record is free and clear, mine is well not so free and clear. actually the agent said i couldn't get insured through them. but my mom saved the day and told me she wouldn't mind so i don't have to pay that much everymonth for full coverage.

Yea mine sucks... I have state farm and pay about $3000 a year with only one speeding ticket. Thats under my dad that has his truck covered under the same policy. I also have the "good student" and the multiple car discounts.

Prices are ridiculous in Ontario. I haven't been quoted a price for my Maxima if it was in my name and I was primary driver, but judging by quotes I got from similar cars, I would have to pay at least $8000 per year!!! (For a $12,000 car!) Needless to say, my car is under my Dad's name and I'm just listed as secondary driver so I only have to pay $900. I do have one accident on my record from about 3 years ago, so hopefully it will be gone soon.
When I go back to school next year, I guess I'll have to get an older car (maybe 3rd gen?) so that insurance will be even remotely affordable for me.

That does sound a little high.... I guess they just have to charge a lot for all of those supercar owners who actually drive their cars

Man i thought mine was high at 250 a month full coverage. I got a ticket but it hasn't gone my insurance yet. i'm fighting it because the ticket has the wrong address wrong Gender and wrong infraction, i think the cop was trippin or somethin.

just renewed today. ~$800 for the whole year (pay quarterly): $500/$250 deduct. 300k/100k coverage, 30k medical, full gap covered, free rental.... pretty much everything highest possible. limited tort (full unneccesary) don't need towing.

coming from an insurance agent, it's always good to shop around. the cheapest today WILL not be the cheapest in 6 months. now if you want to make sure that you will be taken care of just in case something happens vs just trying to get the cheapest rates, then stick with someone. after all, the way that insurance works, at the end of 10 years, all else being equal, your rates are going to be around the same whether you jump from company to company or not. the reason why i suggest staying with someone is because they are much more opt to fight for you if you have stuck with them for a long time vs someone that has just singed up for insurance. at least that's the way i do it. none of my veteran clients will get hosed by me...at least much as i can control it anyway.

Progressive : 1255 (not including any discounts, geico gives me $236.10 in discounts per 6 month period, reflected in the below amount. With the same amount for discounts, progressive would be $1,018.90. however, I'm not sure if the discounts I mentioned above would be included in that amount. such as alarm / vehicle recovery / laser etching in the windows)
