unbelievable day...read this bs

So Im on my way home from class and I've had a problem with my car for a few days, like it sounds like I have 2 flats.

My plan today was to go home, feed my lil brother then goto a shop to check the problem out, but hey guess what!? didnt even make it home!

On the home stretch, i heard a snap, followed by 4 more others and the next thing I know, my car slams to the ground and I see my entire wheel flying down the road.

So now im skidding down the road, rotor left about a 75ft skid mark on the concrete, smoke was produced as well as sparks and next thing I know, my jaw is dropped and im speechless. And one of the studs or whatever that holds the lug in, snapped off from what i saw.

But the tow truck came, dropped my car off at the shop, etc, etc, so hopefully itll be fixed soon.

Sh!tty day? definitely.

As long as you didn't get hurt... the car can/will be fixed.

that happened to my sister's boyfriend and his jetta. he was leaving his house one day and just as he was making a right turn, his front left wheel rolls off and he just stops right there.

was there much damage? was the car sliding on the rotor? and i suppose some of the lower body paneling? did you recently have new tires mounted, or get your tires rotated? because if you did, they may have used an impact wrench and be at fault for this accident/damage.

last time my tires were off was wen i was putting on my coilovers about 2 months ago.

and it looks like the side fender got bent, it wasnt minor or major but you can tell something happened.

and my car was sliding on the rotor for about 50-70 feet

I've seen that happen before in front of me....kinda scary.....That's why you don't over torque your lugs.

Wow. Just one wheel right?

Wonder what caused all 5 to break like that.

Did anything else break besides the studs?

Wobble, wobble, wobble = bends studs back/forth until *bing* you see your wheel street racing you down the lane

it happend to me once in my truck... found out that i would of lost another wheel as some one stole a few of my lugs off my truck. i saw the lugs fly off but not the lugnuts.. then i checked the other tires and found they took all but one lugg off of each rim...

Not a happy day then.. so i feel your pain!!

Wow, that is probably the scariest thing to happen, but it could have been worse. I mean you could have been rear ended or swerved into someone.

had it happen to a guy around here in okc. he has a customized coffin car, with 20's and it came off and screwed up the fender, suspension, and the well pretty much everything else on that front side of the car. it really sucks because i know the guy that painted it and it had a beautiful paint job that's going to be hard to match.

OH wowwww.. that's scary dude. You're lucky there was no car in front of you or behind you, you could have caused a multiple car accident. Bottom line is you walked away without a scratch. Your car will be fixed and everything willl be ok. Hang in there, I know how restless it is when your car is at the shop and you don't know what else can be wrong with it, better yet how much it will cost. Anyway, goodluck with everything.

That's crazy! I've seen that happen often to cars around here, then they're just sitting on the side of the highway or in a parking lot with no wheel(s)...at least your entire axel didn't come off! My wheels make funny clicking noises so hopefully its nothing serious...

so you hear nasty noises, but keep driving anyway and do nothing to check it out and make sure your car isn't going to fall apart?

sorry man.. not smart. at least nobody got hurt.
