side mirror broke please help!!!

something must have kicked up when i was driving and cracked teh plastic peice coveering the front of the side mirror. is there a way just to replace this plastic peice or is a whole new mirror necessary...please give me some input on what i should do...thanks all....wouldlike to get it fixed before the summer starts up...

I cracked mine bad too. Actually broke it when I hit a pole in a parking garage and the whole assembly needed to be replace for me, and then painted and installed. The mirror actually popped out of the housing and landed on the concrete. I had power without heated mirrors for a 97 and it was mid $200 for the fix. Hope that helped and that you can get it fixed for cheaper but it shouldn't cost any more than that. Good luck.
