I live in Florida, a state where you don't have to put your state license plate on the front of your car. Therefore is it illegal to put a European styled (long rectangular) plate on the front? I doubt it is. Also, where can I find these plates? Thanks for any help.

You live in Florida, so you know you can drive almost everything and anything down the road. No state inspections, and no emissions tests anymore either. I don't think you need doors, trunk lid or a hood (not sure on the hood, but I've seen it done) to drive a car. Turn signals don't have to work, (signal with your hand) but lights, brake lights do.
I used to drive my RX-7 tires down to the cords where if I peeled out you could see sparks, good times.
Don't put blue or red neons or LED's or any other type of lights on your car though, the cops don't think that's funny.

Here in Germany they make the smaller plates to fit US spec cars. Being that the long plate won't fit the rear of my 5th gen I have the smaller one.

I hate putting a front plate one, but I would definately not put one on if the law didn't require it.

why in the world would you buy a Maxima in germany? Imported cars are heavily taxed in Europe, so buying domestic is much more cost-effective. For the price of a Maxima/Maxima variant in Germany, you can get a 5-series BMW, Audi A6, or other European-spec sedan which will be nicer and faster (oh, and would be RWD or AWD).

In 3 years living in Italy, I don't EVER recall having seen a Maxima.....in fact, the only Nissans I saw at all were sentras and Stanzas...

Pretty rare, I see a couple of maxima's over here, of course all are owned by us military members who ship them over here. I tend to see more 6th gens in my area, still not many at all. As far as modded maxima's, hardly any. Modding is a bit more expensive with shipping costs, and alot of products won't ship over here.

German spec maxima's are a different story. I see a decent amout of them around. Of course they look completly different than American spec maxima's.

i wouldn't do it on a max. looks better without the front plate, and plus only euro's can pull them off IMO

Well I got it and put it on and it looks so sweet. You guys can say what you want but a Japanese plate wouldn't look nearly as good and this plate definitly adds some style to the front of the car on what would otherwise be a bare front end.

Remember: Japanese plates look have GREEN letters and numbers with a white background (all refective). If they are black and white they are FAKE!
They are the same size as most states plates.
You also must get the correct series number for your car.

Of course, the backlit type are the best if you can find one!

Actually its not illegal where I live. Its basically the same thing as putting a vanity plate on the front, no different.

Tampa police have real things to do, so unless you **** them off, they leave you alone. I used to work as a valet parker at the dogtrack in Tampa, a large number of TPD worked off duty overtime there. Actually working at the dogtrack was something you could mention to get out of a ticket (it worked once for me).
The TPD are fairly easy to deal with, I only have 1 story where they gave me a ticket after an accident where I was cut off and didn't listen to what I was saying to them. When they did it was too late since they had already started writing the ticket. They told me to fight it in court, neither one of them showed up=$80 bar tab at the HUB (no I didn't actually spend all of it there, I would be dead).
Tampa was #2 in violent crimes per capita when I left (Miami was #1, but we can do better!!) , trust me a license plate is not something they are going to care about.

Well I finally got the car back from major engine repair, had the tranny rebuilt and had to replace the ECU, but it runs great now. I posted some pics in the Members Rides section, and a couple of the pics show the Euro tag on the front. Ahh just for the heck of it I'll post the pics in this thread too since it was asked for a while back:

I just requested a random one, so it would look as "authentic" as possible. I really have no preference on what city the plate is.
