hood flew open at 60+mph pics

I have them too and came to the same conclusions as you!! So, I went with the classic Sparco pins for now. However, I remember seeing a pic a month ago with a max with these type of pins. Not sure if they were functional or if he was a poseur. I still may try them one day.

Our hood is too slanted at the point where those would go in. The lock mechanism will only turn on a plane parallel with the ground assuming you mount them straight up and down. You'd have to either modify the locking mechanism or mount them at an angle (would be unbelievebly hard to do) to get them to lock.

It's ironic how a 10$ piece of metal would have prevent this. We all learn lessons sometimes. Good luck with the fix.

Damn that sucks. I had a aunt that had her hood fly open on her also. She had to look under the hood bow to drive.

If your refering to my post I don't know. She must not have latched it fully. It would probably be ok a 40 mph and below. But after that the wind force takes over.
