iunno, if you were going to paint your car, i would try to go more drastic or different than what you have now. in this pic

it reminds me of the 2k 2k1 light blue color. But, if you like the color that much, then go for it.

^^^^ agreed, looks like the blue maxima already, if your going to pay for a whole new design, i would try something a little more different than the ordinary max. I'm feeling a special smoke color...may look like gray lustre but i'm sure u can find something that we can easily tell a difference .

Maybe he is just trying to keep the color close to the original color he has now to minimize the changes he has to do later or so he odesn't have to respray the engine bay to match the rest of the car.

But I agree with everyone..GO FOR SOMETHING DRASTIC!!!! I did from White pearl to Trublue pearl!!!

It looks like the sky blue (light blue) 5th gen max color with a gold/grey back ground. I dont like it. Looks good on the MB though.

Dont like the color, the silve looks much better on your car now especially with the CF hood. I'd say keep the silver or get a better looking color.

nice car! i like the 4th gen behind too! i dont think the color would go with ur max to well, but its ur money and your car. I personally would go with something more unique. Something that you dont see everyday on a max.

its just because of the engine bay. If the engine bay were black i would make a drastic change. So i have to stay within the beige silverish colors.

I did not pull the motor out. I basically remove as much parts i can before painting with a spray can. If you look closely into the lower section of my engine you can spot overspray and parts that still remain white. The engine bay doesn't have the same color as the outside but I will soon take care of that when I pull the motor off to do some internal mods to it and hopefully my 5 speed conversion.

i think the color you have now is alot better than that color you want. if you want a new color, imo do something different, something people will aawwww at, not say 'you should of kept the original color'. just my 2c. nice max btw

one thing to consider is if your car is a show car. If so, how often do you open your hood? If it is also a daily driver, I am pretty sure not a lot of people will see your hood open anyways. And hell, if I had a PPG candy color or something I wouldn't car what color my engine bay is but heck, that is my opinion.

If anything, the way your current paint looks now seems like it gets glazed and waxed every week since it looks so good.

it doesnt look bad, but it does look too similar to the 5th gen sky blue. I thought you had decided on the lexus graphite grey? or was that someone else?

Wow your 5th Gen is exactly like the 5th gen runnin around my town. Same Stillen bumper, C/F hood even down to the rims I believe same color and everything.

Anyway back on topic, I don't think the color would be too bad, I think the one grey Nissan has for their 350Z is awesome I believe it is a pearl, looks rather similar to the Benz color I think it would probably look good.

we'll i'm paint it this color!! alpaka beige adding gold metallic into it also.... ,i know what most of you are thinking, but i'm not into the drastic change... especially bright colors to attract cops.. and plus i really wanted something to match my engine bay so i wouldn't have to pull it out . cars already sanded down.. and ready for paint next week.

I went from sterling mist to BMW Jet Black. I left the strut towers and firewall unchanged and it doesn't look to bad. It kinda looks like a primer color

I don't know, for what it's worth, I think I may be the first one who actually does like the first color. Or at least I like it more than the 2nd color. It's really difficult to say without actually looking at the color on a car, in person. So many things can't be seen in those pics. I'm asssuming that you've gone down to a Mercedes dealer to see the color in person right? Go with what you feel. IMO, the first color (although in those pics looks similar to the 5th gen blue), would look very classy. But, the touring front bumper kinda throws off that "classy" effect. Just my .02.

I’d say that I like it, but don’t do it just ‘cause it looks similar to one am Maxima’s stock colors.

why don’t you consider Aston Martin metallic. I think it’ll the best thing and it matches all you other mods.

I think that Silver, Platinum silver look the best (HOT) on your ride with the CF hood, any drastic changes in color will have to be applied equally under the hood, doors, sills, trunk, etc or it will look like $hit. Plus a drastic color or custom color will drive up costs and god forbid if you get hit, scrapped of whatever, the cost to repaint could be equally painfull. Good luck...
