Maxima's with HID's I have a question for you.

I'm just wondering if there is a point in getting the Ion Crystal fog lights or the Xtreme Fog lights if you already have HID's. Does it even serve a purpose on the road beside it being a cosmetic look?

Mostly cosmetic IMO. How much more lighting do you need if you have true HID's? The only time my fogs (aftermarket or stock) help me is when it is raining and my HID's don't light up the road as well.

For me it was purely cosmetic. I just hated the yellowish fogs with these bright blue/while HID's.

for me the headlights shine the road in front and the fogs shine around the sides.

ANSWER!!!!

HID and other "bluish/white" light is useless when moisture is in the air (rain or fog). The water particles absorb the light or something. Basically the beam is ruined.

Yellow light breaks through the moisture speading a wide short beam. Hence fog lights.

Those with Xtreme want to match the HID look. The halogen bulbs have a yellow tint, not true white light and mismatches.

I like both (all HID look) and HID/Ion. I went w/ Ion and they help a lot with the fog and poor weather here.

yea your best bet for fogs is to go yellow to help out the HID since they do tend to get lost in the rain..

here is a pic of the yellow ion piaa's

yes. "I went w/ Ion" The pic in my sig was before all the swapping showing halogen fogs and amber park lights. Now I either have on HIDs on or HID and yellow. A very nice contrast. Looks purrty driving on snowy roads.

Yellow fogs do wonder in the rain; since white light dissipates in the wet.

The HID matched fogs supplement the HIDs nicely, and cast light on the ground immediately infront of the car, yes, there is a considerable difference, ina 6th gen.

I'm not sure which setup to go with:

1) Yellow corner/side marker/foglights
OR
2) White corner/side marker WITH Yellow foglights
OR
3) White corner/side marker/foglights

All with HID's.

Can I have your opinions please? Thanks. Oh and are there any 4th genners with Ion crystal foglights???
